Yes, per the Falken website, your tire is a 4 ply tire. It is 50.5 lbs in that size configuration. That appears to be the only “P” tire in the 17” size. By comparison, a 6 ply C rated tire in that size is about 60 lbs.
Falken Wildpeak comes in (24) 17" sizes, half are p-metric, the other half are LT.

There was a time not long ago these could be had for a little over 500.
Be advised though, rotate them regularly if you want to keep that smooth quiet ride. A/T tires cup very badly when neglected.

Not that fit our truck.
The 17" size tires that come on the Ranger are 255/65-17, 265/65-17 and 265/70-17 and all of those sizes are available as p-metric in the Falken Wildpeak AT tire.

I did two COB tours and retired in 2013. Where did your friend serve?
We were crypto guys on a surface ship together in the early 80's. He did a sub tour before changing to crypto. He got into a drunken argument an said some unforgivable things an lost his clearance an was kicked out of the CT community. He became an EM an retired a EMCM. I don't recall what boats he rode. I reconnected with him on facebook a few years back then he went radio silent. Might have been another divorce. I don't know if he ever did any time in the PAC or not. Another friend of mine rode boats. He was a sub cook during viet nam. Got out an came back in in the 80s as a crypto guy. He rode direct support out of the NSA on boats. He made a stop in Pearl while I was there. He retired E9 as well. I got tired of the moving an deployments an got out after 12.

Yeah, I didn’t shop those other sizes. The lightest Wildpeak in the size I was shopping for (265/70) is 47 lbs, which is a heavy tire for that size.

TERRA GRAPPLER G2's weigh 41 pounds. That's one of the reasons I chose them. They also have a 65K tread life. That's about 7 pounds heavier than the BFG's that came on it.

I just purchased the wildpeaks last week while on vacation in Florida. I picked up a large screw on the sidewall of my right rear Hankook. There was not. Single match for the Hankook. So at 6000 miles on my Ranger I made the decision to purchase the Wildpeaks all around. With 500 miles to head home with new shoes I was pleasantly surprised at the ride quality and lack of road noise. Can't wait to take off road to see how they perform. Also I have 265/60 18s the wildpeak tread is almost a full inch wider than the Hankooks. Oh and try finding a 3 peak snow rated tire in Florida image that!

Does anyone in the New Mexico region have a set of 18" Hankook low-mileage take-offs they would sell to me?
