I was highly impressed by the Wildpeak's on my 2016 Jeep Cherokee and plan on going with them on my Ranger once the Hankook's need replaced.

By all accounts, those are great tires. Only thing that stopped me from getting them was the weight.

That's why I went with the Nitto Terra Grappler 2's. Had them on for 2K an so far they're great. I went up to 265/70 haven't noticed any drag. MPG took a slight hit but I bought them during the change to winter fuel so it might not be a thing.

Just noticed your "COB" name. I rode surface ships for 12 years. A friend of mine from my first deployment retired a COB a few years ago.

Are the Wildpeaks a very noisy tire?
Thanks,

They are great tires! Get the P series instead of the LT and they weigh similar to any other tire.
I don’t believe they make a P rated, only C or E . I shopped and bought tires recently and the lightest Wildpeak in 265/70 was 47 pounds, as I recall, which is on the heavy end of all terrain options in that size. I went with a Cooper at 42 lbs, which is still 6 lbs over stock.

Well these are mine and here they are. “P”just stands for “passenger“. there’s not really a P rating.

Yes, per the Falken website, your tire is a 4 ply tire. It is 50.5 lbs in that size configuration. That appears to be the only “P” tire in the 17” size. By comparison, a 6 ply C rated tire in that size is about 60 lbs.

Yep that sounds about right.
