Just curious what do you like about the ranger over the taco?
I hated the fact that the taco couldn't maintain. 75mph on the highway with any kind of incline without shifting to 4th gear. And I have never ever gotten close to the EPA rated mpg in the Tacoma Even if I drove 65 with cruise on. Also Android Auto. Toyota just offered it this year in the taco.

Everything! There's quite a few of us that traded in our 3rd Gen Tacoma's for the Ranger on here. I can honestly say that Tacoma was the worst truck I've even owned and I've had about 10 trucks over the years. Like Will said above the powertrain was horrendous and the tranny never knew which gear it wanted to be in it was constantly shifting. The seating position was awful too it was like you were sitting on a flat surface with your legs stretched out and your back was wrenched into the seat.

Hello from Dallas... I’m new to the forum and in the market in the next 6 - 12 months for a mid-sized truck. I’ve been lurking for a while reading posts and finally signed up an account.

I’ve narrowed the potential field to a quad cab 4x4 Ranger, quad cab 4x4 Colorado and the Ridgeline. All vehicles address my needs well in some areas and not so much in others. If only I could take pieces from all three and build my own....

I look forward to learning from your experiences and working toward making a decision in the coming months.

Welcome. If you pick the Ranger I’m sure you won’t regret it!

Welcome to the forum Mike, by the way are you a Dodge man? I believe Chrysler referred to their 4 door pickups as "quads".
Stick around here long enough and your next truck will become readily apparent...

I’m not a Dodge man by a long shot...lol. I quit trying to keep up with what each manufacturer called their four door truck...:sunglasses:

I'll save you a whole lotta research...Buy the Ranger! :D

Seriously I came from a 3rd gen Tacoma and the only other truck besides the Ranger I even considered was the ZR2. I wasn't all that impressed with it after test driving it and thought the interior was a little out dated and then there's the past tranny problems they've had. I bought my Ranger after my second test drive and have ZERO regrets! I've had my eye on it from the day they started writing articles it was coming back to NA a couple years ago. This truck has exceeded my expectations and then some. Love this truck!:inlove:

Late entry here.

I took delivery on January 17, 2020 for a 2019 XLT FX4 Sport (I wanted the wheels) as a low 10500 2 year lease. If I find I'm attached to the truck come 2022 models, I'll buy it out.

So far I love driving it. Out of the 6 vehicles I have owned, 3 are trucks, and I feel best in them, though the 2011 Escape was a close runner up... That was a decent mini SUV. 2011 was the last year before the body style change.

As a lease I'll just put the levelling kit (installed recently) and maybe a catback system. Anything more will be if I am buying it.

Hey all,

Just joined the family, traded in my 2016 F150 XL 2wd (full base model with power nothing) and upgraded to a 2019 Ranger STX 4wd,

I wasn't really in the market for another vehicle but the motor had started going out in the F150 so had to do something.

It will take some getting used to power windows and cruise again after not having it for the last 4.5 years.

The ranger rides a lot better than the F150, and is a bit more comfy (albeit smaller) inside as well. The only thing I kept from the other truck, is the tires I had just put on it a cpl months back, They are Nitto Terra Graplers, looking forward to being a part of the community for a while.
