I own a hot-rodded 2014 Mustang GT, and a couple of other Ford vehicles, but I'm currently dreaming of a 4x4 Ranger for lake duties and maybe trail driving.

2020 Ford Ranger Lariat, black package
Good day all. Been lurking here as a guest for the past 6 months. Just recently bought my 2020 Ranger Lariat. Was in the market for a truck for a while. My son is in upper MI in the Coast Guard and needed my SUV Honda CRV - AWD. So I gave him my car and started looking for a mid size truck that would fit in the garage in the event of a hurricane, and something easy enough that wouldn't intimidate the wife should she need to drive it instead of her car. Test drove the Tacoma and the Dodge Rebel. I liked them both but then I drove the Ranger. What a mid size truck. Was impressed immediately and ordered the Lariat back in October and took possession on Jan, 3rd.

Its the black package with the stone color leather interior. I put the retrax pro roll up cover and was thinking of ordering the Go Rhino sports bar with light package. Gives it a nice sporty aggressive fun look.

This forum and all the information from some wonderful contributors here helped steer me to buy the Ranger, and Im glad I did. The truck practically drives itself. Just got back from NYC and the Ranger was a dream to drive for 18 hrs. Very comfortable leather seats and smooth ride.

I look forward to being part of the group here.

Thanks for having me.

Welcome! That's a nice color combo with the Med Stone interior, you'll have to post some pictures sometime. Also love the tailgate lettering, really pops on your black truck!:like:

Welcome! Just curious where in Upper Michigan is your son? There's only a couple Coast Guard stations up that way, surprisingly for how big and dangerous the Great Lakes are. Always felt like there should be more, there's a lot of gaps.

Newbie.....can't seem to find any other way to post in here except to reply (not post a new msg??).....so here goes:

Picking up a new 2019 Lariat 4x4, Black package, FX4 today and most of the bells and whistles: technology pkg, etc.. First new vehicle in a long while. I sold my '08 Silverado a couple days ago for $1500 more than they offered me in trade and got a good deal on this Ranger. The new adventure begins later today. Unfortunately, it's going to be -4Âş tonight and only +4Âş tomorrow, so there won't be much admiring it outside!

I need to mount a 2-way radio in it and don't really want to drill the brand new roof, so I have to figure that out. Looks like someone makes an antenna mount that fits behind the 3rd tail light?? Anyone with experiences on that, please jump in.

Stationed in Sault Ste. Marie (Soo Saint Marie). Is about to rotate out in the late spring for sea duty. He likes it up there, although its like having a 6 month winter.

Here are a few pics. Id also like to paint the tow hooks and brake calipers the same as the grill letters. Another little project to occupy my time

Looks great! :like: And welcome!

I think you're the first person to use blue letters on the grill of a black truck...maybe?

I really like the Med Stone interior with the black. I really wanted that interior but the dealer had this truck already on the lot with everything else that I would've ordered so it saved me 8-10 weeks of waiting. Doing the tow hooks and brake calipers will really look good with the black wheels. Just remember to use high temp paint on the calipers.:)

It was great to pick it up and learn all it can do. The weather was considerably uncooperative in that the wind chill was about 20 below and the temp around 10, headed below zero. It’s going below zero tonight and tomorrow night. 4WD was the best choice home. And I got to experience the moisture sensing wipers.

Ahh, The Soo, know it well. I grew up in the UP, so I was mostly just curious if you meant "actual" Upper Michigan or just Northern Lower Michigan like a lot of people think. haha Pretty cool place. I've been through the Soo a few times. Always like to stop and watch a freighter go through the Locks if I can. Definitely can see how it might get a little frustrating and almost boring being a Coastie on a frozen/closed lake for almost half the year. haha
