Hey guys. Traded in my 2004 Expedition for a 2019 Ranger about a month ago. Love the truck so far and having a fun time starting to modify and detail my truck. Live in the Raleigh, NC area. Travel for work a lot being as I’m an airline pilot, so mods are going a little slower than what I’d like. Look forward to meeting and learning from you all!

Hi everyone, My Name is Don I live in Maryland,I am a carpenter at Social Security Administration(note we have 9 buildings that we maintain plus we have in house plumbers, electricians, hvac) I own a 98 Super Cab XLT 4x4 4.0. I had a 86 xl Super Cab and a 96 4x2 XLT I kept that for 17 years it had 350K 1 clutch 2 fuel pumps and a couple of small parts here and there the truck just kept running well and never let me sit except for the clutch blew out in WV after a snake crawled inside the bell housing. I'm waiting for the Ranger NexGen to come out. A bit of a rant here I really think FoMoCo could have put a different grill in the truck and WHAT is UP with the anemic color offerings I read they are bringing Race Red and a few new colors and canning that Chili pepper red. As for my screen name I'm a volunteer firefighter and my rangers have been lets say well stocked to handle emergencies

Hello everyone in Ranger5G land. My name is Dan and I am pondering picking up a 2019 or 2020 Ranger Supercrew this Fall to replace an aging 1999 F150 SuperCab I bought new a long time ago! I will be looking to get the 4x4 so I can flat tow it behind my motorhome for distant adventures. I will also be looking for the Trailer Tow package so I can tow my boat. Seems like a nice truck so looking forward to perusing the threads here!

Welcome Dan! There are a few people here who flat tow it behind a motorhome, so you should be able to find good info on that. I think you will find it does a superb job of towing as well - lots of postings on positive towing experiences.

Since there are no significant differences between the 2019 and 2020, I would suggest buying a 2019 - you will probably get a pretty good deal on them soon - maybe as soon as Labor day sales? The 2020's won't be in dealers until after the first of the year probably. The 2019's got kind of a late start in production so they are producing them later than normal (until mid November).

Thanks Rob. I see that the forward sensors are moved to the Tech Package now for XLT for 2020. I was not going to go after NAV or Adaptive Cruise since this one is not Stop and Go capable (at least it is not listed as such) and Waze connects up nicely with AndroidAuto. I do like the Race Red color though.

I sent a note to my dealer this morning to see what he can come up with. Time will tell!

I gotta tell you - even though the adaptive cruise only works above 30 (or so), it is still a killer feature. I've never had it before and I LOVE it when driving on the highway.

I'm partial to the other red they are doing for 2020 (forgot exactly what they call it), but it shows scratches too much for me. That is why I got the white.

Let us know what happens with your dealer. I don't think you will be disappointed either way. These are fantastic trucks - not perfect, but REALLY good!

Hello to all -
I've had my Ranger about 3 weeks, just got back from a 1200 mile road trip to the Eastern Sierras for a week of fishing.
Very impressed so far. Well, except for the standard radio speakers, but that's an easy fix.
I had an F150 that I used to haul my car trailer and TR-6 (tow weight around 3700 lbs) which was a bit of overkill.
I'm really liking the size and ease of parking compared to the F150.

Hey all, brand new Ford Ranger owner here. After spending the year shit talking the new Rangers, I started seeing them in person, and decided that I liked them.

I went with a black XLT with the FX4, Sport and technology package. I've been slowly figuring out how to turn off most of the tech package, all while bitching about the loss of a CD player.

I'm getting the windows tinted next week, and I have an MBRP exhaust on the way. After that I'm hard pressed to think of anything else i want or need.

Before this I had a couple F150s, the last was a 16 with the 2.7, which I absolutely loved. I moved to a much more urban area a couple years ago, and with the new Ranger I finally found a smaller truck with an engine I like.

I lurked for years in an F150 forum, getting all kinds of good information. With a new vehicle I thought I'd finally join a forum and participate noe and again. Pics as soon as I figure out how to do it.

LOL...I am spoiled by the adaptive cruise in my Fusion. In rush hour stop and go it will follow whatever the car in front of you does. It stops with the traffic and then follows it along when it gets going again. If the stop is more than 15 seconds (I think) a push on resume gets the car rolling again. The only issue is it leaves too much room between it and the car ahead allowing constant cutoffs. When a car does move over it brakes and allows space for it. When on you just need to steer. But, leaving the driving to a computer is a bit nerve wracking so I don't do it very often.

Greetings Ranger5G- I picked up a 2019 Ranger XLT 4X2 in ingot silver exactly two weeks ago today. Loving it. Looked at the Tacoma and Colorado after deciding I wanted something smaller than an F-150 or Silverado, but still needed the cargo capacity for my hobbies. The Ranger was just right for me. It came with the Sport package and Group 301A. I added the Raptor grill, leveling kit, Method Wheels, and BFG A/T 265/70/17 before taking delivery. I've since installed the Bakflip MX4 (and encountered the same install issues as others have mentioned), Rough Country bed mat, and I added tint, a sub and upgraded the speakers. I also removed the Sport stickers, dealer sticker and ecoboost badge.

I considered 4X4, but skipped it and decided to save the dough it after realizing I've engaged the 4WD on my Tahoe exactly twice in 3 years.

This forum was really valuable to me in making my decision, so thanks to all.
