I can only use my personal experience. For a pod-style light. Cheap lights from Pilot and a few other “no name” brand lights. Moderate lights from PIAA and KC. And I believe the DD (I have the mid-line Pro) I run now do have a good balance of useable output and low/no offends to other drivers - when positioned and aimed properly. For the build quality and performance, I was *ahem* okay with the price. For the rest of the locations, if/when I get there I am a lot less picky.
On the cheap ones I have seen how the light just scatters, little to no way to focus it or no cut off - the instructions state you can mount them in any orientation. Crappy wiring with exposed but insulated spade connectors. That same rocker switch they’ve been using since at least as far back as 1970. Plastic that fades and gets brittle, or rusting hardware.

I agree with what you are saying fundamentally. And I don’t have money to throw away. Some extra time sealing up the cheap lights goes a long way. Also worth noting that the expensive ones can and do leak. I’m not all that into replacing cheap lights every couple years.
Hey @Danager, You have some valid points that hopefully made it through this thread. On thing I would like to note for anyone wondering. Baja Designs is sold with all stainless steal hardware and mounts which will be rust free for as long as you will have the light. While there will be different price points for different consumers you will defiantly notice the quality once you start purchasing high end products like you mentioned.

Brandon

Hey @The Tremor, If you are in the market for aftermarket lighting upgrades I would consider Baja Designs. Not only do all of our products have a lifetime warranty we are also one of the few companies that are not made in China. We have all the options listed in your post for this vehicle which includes different lens patterns as well as amber or clear options. If you select a lens pattern and find you are in search of lighting in a different area all of our lights come with a full Uservice option which allows the lens to be swapped out. In addition, we sell a direct fog light kit for your truck allowing for a simple plug-and-play installation so you can use the factory function. All of our other lights come with the option to purchase a wiring harness specifically designed to wire directly into the aux connections on your truck. All of our lights are IP69K rated which means they are fully waterproof. Below are some links to some options you can browse for the needs you are looking for.

Hi All. I want to add some light to the Tremor but there is just too much info out there on different brands. I want to add:

1) ditch lights to be controlled by one of the uplifter switches
2) better fog light to be controlled by the stock light switch
3) a light bar / bars in the bumper - two in the little slots (I think they are 6 inches or so) and a 20 incher in the middle, if it won't interfere with the cruise control. Also to be controlled by an uplifter switch.
4) bed lights to be controlled by by an uplifter switch if they will work with the power turned off, or direct wired to the battery with a switch in the bed if not.

It looks like Diode Dynamics makes good stuff but I'm open to suggestions. I want to get good stuff so cost is not really much of an issue.

Thanks!!!

There are 47 bazillion brands of LED lights, each brand may have a zillion models. You can spend as much as you want to spend. Many brands have HUGE profit margins and expensive advertising campaigns. MANY product descriptions will say "super bright" and they are dim as a candle. I have been very happy with Auxito LEDS, VERY solid builds, and quite cost effective. If you are ok with white foglights (as are stock) , I suggest https://www.auxito.com/collections/...-lumens-per-set-700-brighter-6500k-cool-white. You can get them direct from China for $35 here: https://www.aliexpress.us/item/3256...00030006946010!sea&curPageLogUid=nUFYbU3WpGtK. Use Forscan to setup Bambi mode and the world will look like daytime with hi beams on. Be careful though, as using this combination with hi beams on will incinerate oncoming vehicles. I have yet to replace my stock halogen hi and lo beams as I'm happy with the light they make.

Thank you again for the info. Do you have something similar for the LP4 lights? And do you have A pillar brackets for the Ranger that fit the LP4's?
Might try the SDHQ ones, I'm running a set with my Squadron Sports and they're great. According to the product page they will fit the LP4's as well. I like these ones as they mount in the same spot as the bottom arm of the hood hinge does. This way they don't move up and down with the hood, and it pushes them further out. Little bit of a pain to install, but they've been great.

We do have brackets that you can use with the Lp4. You will need to call in to go ahead and place the order for them.

Watch Fb and Ebay for Rigid stuff. People who are selling older rigs tend to part with those things to try and recoup some investment and there are pretty good deals out there.
