I think I have my choices narrowed down to the Cooper discoverer A/T3 4S or the General Grabbers N/TX or Bridgestone Dueller Does anyone have experience with these three items I would appreciate your feedback. I do around town local higway driving so I need dry pavement occasional snow performance and rain performance and some occasional forest service roads here in the PNW
My Tremor came with the General Grabber A/Tx (there is no N/TX). I was concerned that they would be to noisy for a daily driver but was pleasantly surprised at how quiet they are on pavement. I have about 21k miles on them and they are starting to get noiser but still acceptable. My off roading has been limited to hard packed dirt trails where a highway tire would get the job done. My previous experience with all terrain tires in snow and slush has been pretty bad. But these tires have the 3peak winter rating so I figured I would try them before buying true winter tires. They worked surprisingly good last winter.

Since my off-roading is limited I think I will definitely go with a P-Metric tire next time over the LT to save some weight and improve the ride. The tires in consideration are the BFG Trail-Terrain TA and the General Grabber APT.

I had the Cooper AT3XL on my Tundra. They started to flat spot overnight at only 3k miles….maybe got a bad batch of tires but Cooper and the Tire shop basically told me to pound sand when I brought up the issue. Ended up switching over to the Les Schwab house brand AT and they were awesome tires. I would look at those since your in the PNW, the Mazama Open Range A/T. They are produced my Sumitomo tires. Great all around tire, snow, mud, rain they were awesome. I took them in and out of my Elk hunting grounds when I lived in MT and they never let me down.

Ran the Bridgestone Dueler Revo 3(assuming that is what you are talking about) and it was an ok tire. Yes it was light, but wet traction was lost after 5,000 miles. Snow traction was not great either. After that I went to Firestone Destination XT. Love it and wont go back. Great in all sorts of conditions. Definitely a nice one to consider.

Cooper does.make god tires and I had a set of snows for the Ranger. They were good and lasted one season for me(did go to got climate conditions, sooooo.......

General tires...... Not my favorite..... The Graber ATX is simply a K02 knockoff. The snow traction is not there. Cant speak for wet conditions. The NXT I have not idea....

Theres my input for what its worth

I don't know about the Grabber AT being a knock off of the BFG KO2, they have been around since the early 90s, KO2 came out in 2015). Certainly has a similar tread pattern to the KO2 but it is not a copy by any means. The tire has gone through several iterations of the years, the original AT, then the AT2 and now the ATx.

As far as snow traction is concerned they are certainly better than the Mastercraft AT, Michelin LTX AT, Toyo Open Country AT and the original Goodyear Wrangler (which also had a tread pattern similar to a KO2) which I had on various vehicles. All of those tires I mention were pretty poor snow performers and the Mastercraft's were so bad I got dedicated winter tires shortly after the first snow on them. My biggest concern with the Grabber ATx on my Tremor was going to be the noise. My son had the previous generation Grabber AT on his Jeep which were noisey and I would not have been able to live with them, the ATx are surprisingly quiet (but are starting to get noiser with 21k miles on them).

I heard that the KO2's are not very good in the rain which we have here in the PNW. That was on a tire test. I am leaning toward the Cooper's! Sounds like Frenchy really likes the Firestone Destination XT might be a good choice too. Way too many tires out there to consider. I don't want a tire that is much heavier than the stock Hankook's. I did go to the Tire Size Chart to check weights too. I mainly drive to work and back and weekend and vacation stuff towing my off road tent trailer. Americas Tire has gotten a lot of money from me over the years so I will purchase from them for sure.

If you are not planning to go OffRoad at all then chances are a good all season will do you just fine. Also be aware that the Firestone Destination XT is lighter than most of the competition in the same size and load class. Just a noce feature as that will help.

The General ATX on the Tremor have impressed me. About 12k miles on them and they are quiet and ride as smooth as any other LT rated tire I've owned on a pickup truck. I have driven them in the rain a bit and I would say they are as good as any AT tire I've driven in the rain. They don't hydroplane in heavy rain at reasonable speeds. Given they are an AT tire, I'm not about to test for limits on a wet curve though. I just treat all wet curves as though they are coated in 90w gear oil.

I picked up a set of KO2's a couple weeks ago and was worried about the same thing. Since then it has been raining or snowing just about everyday here and they have been great! Lots of highway miles and around town, no worries about loss of traction so far.:tumbleweed: I've been driving the warden insane trying to get the tires to spin out. We lived in the Snohomish / Lake Stevens area for about 25 years so I completely understand the concern, we don't miss those wind or ice storms. :rain:

Arizona rain and snow are nothing like the PNW or the Rockies. Food for thought

Thank God! No monsoon season up there, just 10 months of constant drizzle, and no chowder skiing down here.

I'm in Marquette, MI and the Goodyear Duratracs have been pretty damn good. Currently snowing and had no traction issues while pulling an old lady's Buick out of a snow bank about 20 min ago.

They were pretty comfortable on the drive here from FL and in my daily commute back home.

Duratracs might be a good option for you if you bank with USAA cause you'll save a ton of money, but any all terrain that is three peak snow rated will be an excellent tire for your purposes.

Question to ask yourself. Wich one has more sipes and how deep are the sipes? More sipes generally mean better wet traction and the deeper they are the longer you have said wet traction.

I considered those trail terrains, but all of the reviews I read said they lacked in rain. It rains too much where I live to have slippery wet tires.
