My trade-in still hasn't been sold

I traded in my 2020 Ford Ranger XLT Sport 2WD May 15th and it still hasn't been sold. It has had two price reductions. I thought since the market is so hot that truck would of flew off the lot (especially since that dealer doesn't have too many new ones), but it's still there. It makes me feel good about my trade but just a little puzzled why it hasn't been sold. It was a good truck with low miles.

I traded my 202 XL STX 2WD and my 2016 Jeep Cherokee in for a new 2020 Ranger XLT FX4 around the same time. Both trade ins sold right away. I guess it depends on location. I bout both Rangers from the same dealer in Columbia, Mo which is a college town and also full of doctors and lawyers with the multiple hospitals in town.

I paid $31,700 for a 2021 supercrew 4x4 STX out the door with $1000 down. Sticker was $36,735.
That was on 03-19-2021.

$32,400 for a used Ranger is Carvana prices. New isn’t that much different really. Be curious to see where it is when they do sell it.

I traded in a '20 Lariat FX-4 with 1200 miles that was in showroom new condition and it sat on their lot for 6 weeks. I only know because it was till connected to my Ford app so it alerted me when it moved 50 miles from the dealer location then disconnected the next day.

Used Rangers (and others) are posted at new car prices in my area in my area of the south east. It's absolutely crazy. My local dealer had a 2019 Lariat with 3 miles (I can't understand why that one never sold.). It's listed as used, and 2K over sticker.

I did my trade-in at the end of March/beginning of April before prices went crazy. My STX only had 2,200 mills on it and they listed it $2,000 below sticker and it sold right away. They were asking 19,000 for the 2016 Cherokee with 48,000 miles on it, it also sold right away.

With low miles on both trade ins, I just couldn't see paying yearly taxes and insurance on two vehicles. The FX4 suits all of my needs that the other two covered separately.

They gave me $30k for it. I'm curious how close they'll get to that price before they sell it.

A lot of dealers are fronting the lot with used inventory just to get customers on the lot. My good friend is the sales manager for a lot belonging to a huge regional dealer of all makes and their buying used cars over value just to have something to draw in customers. Then they usually either place an order or get lucky and sell the used. The lots in my area have no new vehicles in stock of almost any make or model. The once giant premier new car dealers have nothing but random used on their lots. Weird times.
