Hey all, thanks for all the kind words! Lots of questions about the hood, which hope I can help with.

The hood is from Carbon Creations (part of Extreme Dimensions if you remember that place that made all those body kits for 90's/early 2000's tuner cars). They also have an available unpainted fiberglass hood under the Duraflex name as a "cheaper" option (cheaper depending on how much you can get it painted for). Although, I ordered mine through Carid.com as they had it on sale at the time. I paid through Carid, Extreme Dimensions shipped it, and since I live in Canada, had to set up a way to pay for delivery across the border due to customs. Took about 3 weeks to get, but that was mostly due to the customs thing. The stock hood is surprisingly light, so this being carbon fiber isn't that much of a weight savings option, if that is what you're going for.

This is where I got it:

Carid.com Ranger Hoods

Now for getting the hood on, there is some work to be done to get it to fit better. The hood mounts on mine were perfectly straight, but being aftermarket it can be a little off for others. Might need a bit of adjustment to get it to line up better. From the front, the gap on mine is great, but in the side shot, you can see the gap and its about 1/4" along the fender. I don't mind it, but it might be too much for others. Mine could be on the worse side of the spectrum for the side gap, while others could fit better.

This hood re-uses the latch hoop from the stock hood, but a couple washers were added to give it a bit more space so it wouldn't break anything over time because we figured it was pulling a bit too hard on the latch when closed. Your milage may vary on this part too.

The vent IS functional and open above the engine and ignition coils, and the fiberglass molded underside has a square cut in it for proper air flow to allow the heat to escape out. But to prevent water/snow/ice from getting into places it wouldn't normally get to with the stock hood, getting the standard plastic engine cover from the non-Tremor Ranger, or plugging up the vents, is recommended if you don't want to expose those engine components to the elements.

The biggest hurdle to fitting the hood properly is the fiberglass mold on the underside of the hood. Its a close, but not perfect match to how the underside of the stock hood is, but ALL the holes were closed up. So in order to swap the rubber seals over AND the windshield washer jets, you'll have to get all the holes drilled out to fit properly. There are "markings" in the fiberglass you can see where to drill holes for the clips, but the washer jets took a bit more ingenuity to be able to get the holes to fit them at the proper angle so they spray on the windshield.

With basically not knowing anything about how the hood would fit before hand, it took about 2 hourss to get the hood mounted, but a lot of that was just for the washer mounts and making sure the angle was more or less correct. Also it was mostly a 2 person job moving it around with it being so light, but having a 3rd just to help stabilize it better is recommended.

I'll try to upload pictures of the under side of the hood to show what I mean soon.

Anyways, thanks again for checking out my Tremor!

Hopefully a little something different from what you're used to seeing. I'm interested in seeing what are other people's thoughts are. I think the color will be very divisive, but I like it (obviously)! Don't think there is another Ranger in this color!

These photos were taken by the local business I went to by a professional after it was color wrapped, so they've been touched up and the color isn't as intense in person, but still eye-popping and catches all the curves in the bodywork. Wrap colors are Satin Purple Metallic (by Avery Dennison) with Gloss Light Green (by 3M) as the accent color. My Wife made up the custom TREMOR graphic for the side, and they were able to transfer it to a cutting program and get the dimensions I requested.

From the pictures, only things done are: changed the wheels to 17" Sparco Dakar wheels (exact same size as stock as I wanted to keep the tires, only difference is they stick out about 1/2" more than stock due to the offset), and the Carbon Creations Raptor-style carbon fiber hood. A MBRP 3" cat back turndown exhaust was installed after these pictures were taken. It sounds great, if a little drone-y on the highway, but the noise on acceleration is perfect to me and just a touch louder than stock.

Other goodies I have in waiting are: Pedal Commander throttle response controller, AlphaRex NOVA-series LED projector headlights in Alpha-black, aFe Quantum cold air intake, and aFe BladeRunner 3" aluminum hot and cold charge pipe kit. I also want RokBlokz XL mud flaps in Lime Green, but they are on backorder at the moment.

Future additions include the RSI SmartCap, and Expedition One Mule Ultra roof rack.

I'll definitely be able to find it when I go out camping!
Mad props on the post. You do you! Personally, I think it looks dope. Congrats.

It looks like a can of purple Rock Star Energy Drink on wheels! And I mean that as a compliment! Love it!

I like it but can’t justify putting that kind of $$$ into mine. It would be nice not to have the same grey truck as everyone else in the parking lots.

I've thought the same thing.
While I chose the Magnetic color on purpose, I'd really like to have had a choice of green color.
But a wrap is way out of my price range.

I don't know what your final cost to wrap the Ranger, but I'm sure it wasn't inexpensive. One local shop here in Roswell, NM, charges up to $5,000 for a pickup. The truth is, this is too "cheap" to get a decent wrap.

As for myself, I won't have anything that isn't either silver (I have had three that color), or white (fourth one that color), and one red (hot!). After all, it gets into the high 90s and low 100s here. As a result, I put the monies under the hood, where it doesn't show, except at the stop lights!

As an after thought... I've always thought that a wrap done in all chrome would be an eye-catcher, in more ways than one!

Although, I wouldn't be surprised if a standard paint job would cost the same or even more.

Love it !!

What was the original color under the wrap ?
The truck is originally Shadow Black, and I specifically wanted it in this color so that when they wrapped it I didn't have to pay extra for them to do the door jambs. This idea was fueled by going to a tuner show when I was younger and seeing an early '90s Civic painted in baby blue, but the inside of the engine bay was the stock faded original red color. That image has stuck with me since! Black can go with everything so when you open the doors or hood and see it, it's not as jarring as seeing pretty much any other color there. Most people I've shown don't even notice that the door jambs are black when I open them.

Definitely a beautiful truck IMO. I had a '95 in Bright Sapphire Metallic like this one but an extended cab flare side. Loved the color.
What are the advantages of wrapping vs painting? IMO, price is not the reason, as you stated it cost 5,000 plus. What happens with dings or minor scratches?
