My 2nd favorite body style of the GM twins. Early 2000s are my number one.

After 2012 shit got weeeeirrd.

Damn , thats what i had before Ranger , MAKE SURE the drivers side valve cover has been updated on that truck , almost cost me an engine ... (PCV was built into the valve cover with way to small of a drain hole )

The TSB outlines the fact that the valve cover design on engines built before February 1st, 2011, has a poorly designed PCV pullover that will draw oil out of the valve train and into the intake manifold and combustion chambers, exactly as the oil consumption lawsuit alleges.

And the "Low OIL" light is crap also ...

I got rid of my GMs but I liked them more than Ford for a long time. It seems like for Ford they either make a really good motor or a turd. GM seems to have smaller issues all over but cheaper failure points (if you known how to use a multimeter....)

IMO the 2.3 with the cross drilled deck is solid when the right head gasket is installed.

I got mine new in 2011 , first new truck i ever bought , other than the spare tire fiasco , it was never in the shop , 10 years , 70000 miles ... BUT , about 6 months before i sold it is when i found out about the valve cover , noticed some smoke at start up and figured valve seals may be in my future, i checked the oil while i had the hood up , truck was VERY LOW on oil , out of oil almost , no warning light and i am PISSED !!! Quick google search took me right to the valve cover bulletin , which pissed me off even more because why didnt they let me know ? They sure as hell had my address and Email for the last ten years , anyway , the low oil scared me so i got rid of it after i replaced the valve cover , rode like a Cadillac from day one , i do miss that a little ...

Also; one GM I got rid of went 1000% crazy two weeks after I let it go. I did not screw the new owner over.. they just have a really weird power setup. On that truck; two power inputs into the ECM. One of them went wonky and caused massive chaos and stranded the current owner.

Then the moron pulled the fuel pump relay vs the spare when I was trying to help them. They blamed me for that and I stopped trying to help. If you can't tell left from right you can go fuck yourself if you think that was my fault.

They also towed it to a dealership that I have personally seen try and screw over two different people (for like 1k each.. both were bullshit and the owner of said GM knows about that)... so... yeah. Good luck with that pile of crap. Not my issue anymore. I know they can't catch me anyway.. not with the LMS stuff loaded into my ECM.

Now that it's not a bright and pristine Ranger, I actually count on the rain to do the washing now, it should be dirty for a couple weeks LMAO

My thinking exactly! I run it through the car wash a couple of times a year & let the rain wash it the other times!?
