Modifying a RetraxPro..

Does anyone here know if a RetraxPro 6' tonneau could be mounted on a 5' bed? I'm thinking the rails could be shortened and the extra top would just stay in the cover. Those of you who have one of these, what do you think?

There’s a gentleman on the site that has one for sale and I’m looking for one. I have a crew cab with the 5’ bed, his is a 6. Thinking about it, I’ll ask the owner to take a few pics of the end of the rails and go from there.

Wow, thank you. That’s an education, the rails are a lot higher tech than I imagined and I hadn’t thought about where the top enters the canister...

Can you uninstall some of the slats so that it's only as long as you need it?

I called their customer service and asked. They said they would not recommend that as each one was made to length. Not having one or any personal knowledge of them I really didn’t feel I could go much farther with it. Thanks for all the input though..
