Does anyone here know if a RetraxPro 6' tonneau could be mounted on a 5' bed? I'm thinking the rails could be shortened and the extra top would just stay in the cover. Those of you who have one of these, what do you think?

Thereās a gentleman on the site that has one for sale and Iām looking for one. I have a crew cab with the 5ā bed, his is a 6. Thinking about it, Iāll ask the owner to take a few pics of the end of the rails and go from there.
Rear clamps may need to be relocated further forward. The two nylon spacer screws beside each clamp are threaded into the rail. Together with a nylon spacer block between the plastic rail cap and bed rail, they adjust the width between the side rails and prevent crushing the plastic cap and metal bed rail while tightening the clamps.
Wow, thank you. Thatās an education, the rails are a lot higher tech than I imagined and I hadnāt thought about where the top enters the canister...
I called their customer service and asked. They said they would not recommend that as each one was made to length. Not having one or any personal knowledge of them I really didnāt feel I could go much farther with it. Thanks for all the input though..
