New to this forum. Just bought a 2019 Ranger XLT super crew. It does not appear to have a low oil pressure warning light. When I turn the key on, all the warning lights come on, including the red low voltage light, but no oil pressure light. Also, I have the trailer tow package but there is no brake controller on the dash like my F-150 had. Does the Ranger have an integral electric trailer brake controller?
Thanks

Check your owner's manual p.53. The oil pressure light is not supposed to come on with ignition on, only if there is a problem

. Weird, I know.

The Trailer Tow Package on a Ranger includes only the hitch receiver and a 4+7-pin connector; no factory brake controller, load leveling or lower axle ratio

Thanks Motorphycology, but here is a pic of page 53 in my owners manual and also a pic from page 86 on the oil pressure light. First sentence says that the oil pressure light will come on when ignition is switched on.....what do make of that? That certainly doesn’t happen with my truck.

I believe others have mentioned it appears our US Ranger manual has some cut and paste issues from other manuals. Both the US and International versions.

It would have been nice to have had a factory brake controller as an option. The only other midsize truck I know of with it from the factory are the diesel Colorado / Canyon twins. Aftermarket brake controllers are available and Ford is said to be working on one. I'm contemplating a Red Arc Tow Pro Elite in the meantime.

Hope you are enjoying your new Ranger.

Too many cooks spoil the broth, I guess. I got the info I posted from Manualslibrary.com. I'd go with your hard copy Owners Manual and take it to a dealer to have checked out,

I have never seen a low oil pressure light come on at all.

I don't doubt that knowing if the light actually works is a good idea, but if nothing else, I'm sure a nice big warning message will pop-up on the instrument cluster screen if anything goes wrong. Any light is just going to be a long term reminder once you clear the message.

Thanks Rick, so far I really like the truck. Driving it home from the dealership, 135 miles on the interstate at speed limit, it averaged 31mpg. I assume the low oil pressure light on your truck does not illuminate when the ignition is switched on either?
you dont see the red oil can when you turn on your key?
nope, there is no red oil can light on the dash. If you watch the video on this forum on “ how to view engineering test mode”, you will see there is no low oil pressure light on the Ranger dash. How are Ranger owners to know if the engine suffers a loss of oil pressure?

Hopefully it's like my Colorado when the oil cooler line blew. Giant "Low Oil Pressure!". Followed by "Turn off Engine Now!" in the display between the gauges. I think the Colorado has an idiot light as well, but I didn't notice it as everything came on at once and I was at highway speed when it happened. I was more concerned with shutting the engine of and pulling over as efficiently as possible.

Edit: It's exactly like the Colorado. Pg. 105 of the manual under information displays, maintenance, there is a low oil pressure warning.
