Is it possible to do a forced reset? My display reads 0 km to empty at 1/3 tank. Had to remove a few gallons from the fuel tank to assist a friend that run out of gas. Now this thing behaves erratic...

I know when I fill up and reset to trip mileage to zero, it resets the calculation. Don't know if it would do a reset with 1/3 of a tank though.

I noticed today when I hit 50 miles to empty the nav system automatically started showing gas stations. Interesting/cool

The DTE and fuel light is all a calculation. I've actually seen vehicles gain miles to empty after driven in town and then on the highway. Different loads, like a trailer on and off seem to make a big difference, as well as not resetting the fuel mileage after filling up. Filling up without shutting vehicle off causes issues also.
Agreed, observed same this morning on my non-Ranger (BMW) vehicle. When I left the 70 mph interstate for the 45 mph divided highway, I watched the fuel range increase for awhile until it finally leveled off and then started decreasing. On the Ranger, I believe the computer is calculating DTE based on average fuel economy for the trip. So, removing a heavy load such as a trailer after you've burned most of the tank won't show an immediate improvement in DTE unless you reset the trip log.
