Good day all
Im new to this forum and need some advise.
I have a 2019 ford ranger raptor.
About a month ago I noticed my coolant level is below the min level, way below.
I filled it up and went on a trip, drobe about 750miles. I then checked again when I got home and the level dropped again to the same level before I filled it.
Never did the engine overheat at any point or went beyond the normal temp mark.

I them made a mark on the coolant bottle where the coolant is and filled it up again to test what is going on.
I checked the oil and looked normal. No milky color.

I drove it for one day and checked again the level and it drop to the mark I made. I then left it at that mark to see if it drops more, drove it like that for 2 or 3 weeks without filling up and it is not dropping more. It stays at that level.
I see no external leaks.

Today I took it in because its bothering me and the technician at our ford dealer said I need to replace the complete engine. I told him based on what? This does not make any sence, engine is not overheating, dont feel if there is any issues with loss of power, oil colos looks fine, so how come a new engine. He said he put a pressure guage on the coolant bottle cap and there is more pressure going back into the bottle than supposed to. I said okay, well then maybe the head gasket which he agrees and said because of the blown headgasket the engine must be replaced with new engine. I told him I cannot believe this. Not possible.

Did any one perhaps had the similar symptoms or same issues and is a complete engine replacement justifying this?

What engine do you have? It may be that if the head gasket has issues the either the cylinder block and or head also are compromised ? That may be why they’re suggesting an engine replacement.

But to determine that they need to have a closer look or not? Remove the top and inspect, which they have not uet done, or can they say that by just testing pressure going into the coolant bottle?
Im no expert when it comes to engines and these type of issues.

They may have enough history with that failure on that engine to make that determination. We don’t have the 2.2 here in the US so there’s no history of failures to comment on.

Coolant expands as it gets hot. Could it be that the expanding coolant is simply hitting the overflow mark and being expelled while driving. And when it comes off, falls back to its previous mark? Or perhaps a leak in the coolant reservoir bottle?

No visable leaks any where outside.
After fighting with them today they said that they will open the top and call to inspect.
