Just wondering if anyone else here thinks or has an issue with the direct injection pump being noisy when cold. It quiets down after a bit of driving but never completely goes away. There is actually a noise cover on the pump in the engine compartment but I still think it is louder than any other injection pump I have heard on a Ford. My wife says it sounds like a Vespa when it's cold and I have to agree. That's probably the best description I could compare it to.

Its normal with the noise and Ford has a bulletin. There is a cover on the pump. On the Lariat there was(key word) an engine cover that also helped dampen the noise. The Lariat doesnt come with it anymore for who knows what reason but if you buy one it will help with noise.
