18 days later and I finally had the surgery, 6 hours and a second surgeons worth they said, I don't even remember going back , some kind of nerve block from the knee down so it feels like I sat on the toilet far to long and it went to sleep ?, block may last 2 days he said and I hope... cranked up on dilaudid right now so all is well , maybe 2 days in hospital but wifey needs the break so I'm good with that...

Hospital beds are notoriously uncomfortable for sure. I'm glad you're out of there and wish you a speedy and more comfortable recovery.

Getting discharged means progress in your recovery. Try to have patience while your leg heals. Stay positive.

And the wonderful world of dilaudid to tie it all together, that stuff is FAST ! , Nurse won't even have the syringe all the way out and you can feel it wash.over you starting at your head and just traveling down ...

I shattered my tibia in a motorcycle accident in 2005. Pain was immense. The surgeon said it was so bad they had to remove some bone fragments that could not be reattached to anything. Two big plates and multiple screws to put it back together. They had to open up both sides of my leg to access all the damage. To this day I can still run and the doctors are amazed.
Hang in there, do what they tell ya, do all od the rehab they want you to, and don't get addicted to the good stuff, You'll be fine.
