I spent about $3,600 on mine. Obviously, I didn't love spending the money, BUT I keep vehicles for decades at a time (unless this trans fails, lol) and I need the dry storage.

Not cheap....I think the amount I spent is probably the limit I was wiling to go, but in terms of added utility and the way I use my truck, I'm glad I have it.

Plus, if you wanna get geeky about it, there's the potential for MPG savings (depending what you read and who you ask, some will disagree), which somewhat offsets the cost.....over many years and many miles....depending on specific cover/topper and weight.

I was hoping for 8-10 years outa this truck. My Nissan gave me 11 years and 240k trouble free miles. Given trans issues I’m hoping for half those numbers outa this one.

I'm so glad I spent ~45k on a truck that is expected to last less time than my subaru that cost half... ?

I have a Leer 100 XR topper on my truck. I got it in 2021 and I believe it was around $3000 installed then. But it was brand new, painted to match my truck and optioned just how I wanted, including a locking system tied into the factory keyless entry. I skipped the windoors due to cost and how high the bedsides are on the truck. Cost would have gone up about $1500 for the windoors on both sides.

That's just a topper, not the pop up camper version.
Ohh good catch - The popup version is still only 9k LOL

And it is amerikan made, because you know that makes it so much better. . . .

I havent looked at the GFC site in awhile. It's crazy how big the business has gotten and you can get them delivered to multiple pick up spots now (for a fee). I wanted to get one before getting my topper but driving to Montana seemed outrageous.

Disclosure: I'm working with my friends at GFC to launch a new company unrelated to the camper space.

I'd definitely take a hard look at the GFC Topper. Versus other products in the space, its price is made up mostly of value for you, not middle man markups and marketing costs. Where rivals are just chopper gun fiberglass layup, or non-structural metal skins, the GFC is bespoke billet aluminum components. Everything is designed to be repairable should the inevitable happen, and they've got excellent customer service.

Downsides are, even with the ~8 locations across the country, it's still not as easy to get as the commodity fiberglass toppers, or flat pack stuff form offshore.

It really is amazing what a good social media person can do for a company . . .

Some people are willing to pay gucci money for something like this, not me though . . . Now if GFC wants to bring me up as a consultant on the next design, and pay me, I would sing their praises from the roof tops :)

I have an RSI on mine and love it. GFC is a good option with the popup. Without the popup it's just an average topper with bars right in the middle of the doors blocking full access to your bed. Another solid option for a popup is SuperPacific X1. Friends have both and I much prefer the SuperPacific.

I pair my RSI with an RTT from FSR. If you don't need the sleeping arrangements then I would go for the RSI any day.

That’s about what I’m spending for Z2 series A.R.E., which should be here next week. I was expecting to spend close to $5k but I didn’t want many options and was pleased with the local dealer ordering process. Their site is good for estimates.

What I’m not pleased with is trying to communicate with A.R.E., apparently short handed like everyone else but after several emails with no response and several phone calls with only a recording I’m kinda disappointed.
There is a rebate program going on as advertised on their site but no info on how to redeem. Expecting my dealer to help with this when I pick it up.
