Leveling kit- Which one?

So I have been going through Leveling kit options and I am stuck. Not sure which one to get? Some say 2" wont level it enough, and some say 3" is too much and can damage the strut? Any advice? Which kit did you use?

I got a 2" level from Ford Ranger Lifts for my Tremor.
I supplemented the lift with a 1" diff drop from ebay.

With your Fx4 you should not need the diff drop.

I got the this kit. Levels the truck and improves the ride ALOT. Only issue is the front install is much more involved and if you pay a shop it's gonna be $400-700. Still I'd rather have nice shocks than blocks.

Mine is set at max which levels the front 2.5". Any higher and I've heard it's not good for the suspension unless you start adding more stuff like UCAs.

I have the 2.5” from @Fordrangerlifts.com. While I don’t tow, I do keep my KB Voodoo Modular Rack and CVT on my truck.

By the way, if you’re doing the job yourself, remove the axle shaft nut. While I did the job by pushing down on the arms, it made my job just a bit more of a pain in the ass.

100% remove the CV axle nuts. I also hit the cv axle, with the nut loosely threaded with a rubber dead blow hammer to unseat it (So I hit the axle nut).

I can't imagine doing this job without unseating the CVs, the stress would be brutal on the CVs and they can pop out of the diff.

Axle nuts take a 35mm socket and probably need somewhere in the 200 ft lb range of torque (Look it up). I just gave them some ugga duggas.

EDIT: if you are a decent backyard mechanic, or have done suspension/ brake work before, this is a very easy job.

It took me 30 minutes a corner to install 1" strut spacers.

Having the right tools made that very quick.

The only hiccup I had was removing my front passenger sway bar end links. I couldn't easily get it out of the knuckle, so instead I just removed it from the bar instead. Only took me 5-10 minutes to adjust.

I went with this Torch leveling kit and have been very satisfied . It all depends on what you want to do with your truck and how much you want to spend . I daily drive my Ranger and only do some light trails with it . The Bronco I have on order was supposed to be my rough trail ride but it keeps looking as if I may attempt some tougher stuff with the Ranger since who knows when it will arrive .

With the Torch level kit I also went up 2 sizes in tire with no issues . At $79 and easy to install , if you do as the above post advise and take the axle nut off , it's a low cost option and ends up looking great .

I daily drive my Ranger and only do some light trails with it . The Bronco I have on order was supposed to be my rough trail ride but it keeps looking as if I may attempt some tougher stuff with the Ranger since who knows when it will arrive .

With the Torch level kit I also went up 2 sizes in tire with no issues . At $79 and easy to install , if you do as the above post advise and take the axle nut off , it's a low cost option and ends up looking great .

the problem i have with a 2.5 inch level is some of the pics ive seen look like the front may be slightly higher than the back, giving a slight pre-runner look. is the measurement from the ground to the top of the fender fairly identical?

Well the pic I posted looks level to me but just went out and measured for confirmation . Front /rear are less than 1/4" difference sitting in the garage with the 2.5" kit.

For reference here are my Tremor's numbers with a 1" spacer level:
38 7/8 DF
39 1/4 PF

My rear fenders are .5" higher, but I think the rear fenders are actually taller than the front if the truck was perfectly level.

The best way to measure levelness is the pinch weld of the cab.
