That demo box sprint booster uses is utter BS. I can promise you with 100% surety that your throttle body is not that slow to respond. And here's the catch, even if it was there's absolutely nothing these pedal tuners could do to change the speed at which it opened. The only thing that can be manipulated in the pedal section of the DBW circuit is position. Could you imagine trying to blip the throttle on a manual vehicle if the TB was that lazy to respond to your inputs? The vehicle would be undriveable.

?‍♂ maybe that is why I felt it made a bigger difference on my manual JK. It made throttle control with the clutch easier.

I suppose the only way to truly tell is put your truck in neutral, pull the air intake tube and have someone mash the pedal so you can watch.

Yep you could do that, or they could perform a very simple data log of pedal position and throttle body position with time on the X axis. If the TB was opening slower/faster relative to pedal position there would be a easily demonstrable difference in the relative positions of the TB/APP sensors as you cycle through the "drive modes". But..... they would never do this, because their product literally cannot do what they are claiming it does.

Functionally, I don't have an issue with pedal tuners. They change pedal sensitivity, and can do it on the fly without a tune. Personally, I think they are a bit overpriced for what they do, but people love them, and that undeniable. I just hate the lying they do to market these things. Some guy did a 12 page white paper on the sprint booster 15 years ago. Demonstrated and documented exactly how they work.

Now that is science.

Adding a tune really wakes the motor up and takes away the lag and gives it just enough added hp.

As far as tires and wheels go I left the stock wheels because I couldn't find any I liked to go with the Saber color. Tires I went up 1 size with Nitto Ridge Grapplers 265/70/17. There's no need to cut or change out the crash bars going this route.

I am extremely impressed with my Wildpeaks. My buddies and I did 100 miles of hard off-roading over the weekend. We tried to get my truck stuck on purpose to practice recovery and she refused to get stuck. Actually I’m impressed with this truck!! It’s a beast off road. I think my buddy might be ditching his Taco after this trip

Regardless he should ditch it anyways. ?

Looks like a fun time out there and I'll have to keep the Wildpeaks in mind when I get new tires in the spring. Right now it's a toss up between them and the Toyo Open Country AT3s.

Can’t go wrong either way. OC AT3s are great too

Same dilema here!
I don't think you (or I) could go wrong with either one. I was always leaning towards the AT3's because of all the good reviews from those who have them on their Ranger now.

Yes, they are the lightest of all which got my attention, but I did see a vid on YT last night from a guy that pinched/cut the sidewall after driving across a non-jagged rock and it flatted. The sidewall appeared paper thin so I then went in the drain about them. :)

As with any tire, there's always an exception.
