Please excuse my ignorance as I've never previously owned or modified a 4x4 vehicle. I really like the looks of my Ranger but do not like the stock rake it has and I'm looking at options to level the truck.
I have a 2020 Ranger XLT Sport 4x4 magnetic metallic and therefore have the 17" magnetic rims as well with Bridgestone Dueler AT 255/65 R17 tires. I'm inquiring about the possibility of lowering the rear because this is not a work truck, only tow a jetski, have an aftermarket tune, and wasn't interested in aftermarket rims or bigger tires. In other words I'm a bit more interested in keeping the performance I have than going off roading or worrying about carrying a large payload. Is there an option available to lower the rear a bit and if not considering my circumstances what do you think would be my best option for a level? I appreciate any useful information.
Thanks,
Marc

I don’t have a 4x4 but don’t you have a block under your rear springs?
I assume you could remove that block and see what you got.

Appears to be two shims under the leaf springs but not much more than 1/2" thick between the two. I'm not sure that will get me where I want to be.
Thanks,

Interesting idea Marc - I like seeing a solution turned on its head!
Maybe some of the lowering crowd can comment

I've wanted to lower my truck, but with it being my only vehicle, I decided against it due to it limiting it's flexibility.

I've wondered if a person could get rear leaf springs with a 3" lift and use a flip kit to mount them, resulting in a 3" lowering of the rear and maybe lower the front an inch or so, to get it to the right rake.

Any thoughts ?? -- @Kevin Franklin @Dgoodell13 @66F100 @FinalNotice @19Bluecrew

It's either 4" or nothing at all, you have to do a axle flip then do a lowering on the front 2" unless you like to ride nose High. I really don't want to lift the front 2" but its my only choice to get rid of that darn rake.

I’m sorry my friend. Many have wished and prayed for a way to lower rear 2in. No easy options available. Disappointing really.
There are plenty of options. Belltech, or rearched springs are the two most common.

"Easy" is subjective but it's doable. Quite simply, actually.

Might talk to a spring shop and get yours re-arched or some made. Seems 1.5-2” is all you need to get close to level and doing that you won’t sacrifice your load rating.

You have to do a 4” min rear drop with Belltech. With custom re-arching you have to worry about axle geometry adjustments that Belltech took into account already. Not yet an off the shelf kit that does a 2” drop. That’s what I am referring to as “easy”.

No off the shelf, correct. But not difficult either.

Like most things it's just a matter of how much you want it.

Spring under axle conversion would be an avenue to consider as well.

De-arcing was really not a big deal, the only downside would be having to be without any springs while you were waiting for for the de-arcing, that's why I bought a second set of springs so the truck was driveable, you should measure the driveline angle before you send them out, then verify the angle when the de-arced springs go back in and adjust if needed.
I went with 1.5" drop which is a unloaded static measurement, I asked the guy at the spring shop "how do you know if 1.5" uninstalled is 1.5" with the weight on it" he goes "hey it's not rocket science" it worked perfectly, they actually came back at 1.4" lower, installed them and all 4 wheel wells came in at the exact same height which is 37" on my Tremor.
Best $135 I have spent on the truck (plus the cost of the extra springs $300) I used to grumble every time I looked at my truck, now it's perfect in my opinion, you will want to shorten the bump stop a little.
