First off what size are you looking at? Without that it's hard to say what to look at. Also Ford never made any 18-in tire for the ranger. Maybe you're talking about the wheel?

As for good tires that are light it will depend on whether you're looking to go off-road or stay on the street. There are plenty of options to look at and we do have some recommendations but we need to find out about a tire size first
Yeah I meant the OEM tire. I like the aggressive LOOK of off road type tire, but want a decent compromise. Something like the Nitto's which look fantastic (IMO) even in stock sizes.

I can understand wanting a look but do you bother to go OffRoad or will this be a Pavement Princess? This will impact my advice to please be honest

You can offset heavier tire weight by switching to lighter rims, that's my plan to minimize mpg loss.
This is my strategy as well. There's only a few really lightweight aftermarket rims that I've found - 27 lbs is about the lowest I've seen and only by one or two brands.

I like the looks of both brands, but aren't the Falken quite a bit heavier? At least from what I remember.
In the size I put on my wife's Baby Bronco, they were like 4 lbs heavier than the stock P-metric tires, but 7 lbs lighter than the KO2's I was also considering for her. I went with the Falken and have been impressed.

They tend to be heavier than most. 63 lbs for the size in my sig. They perform well, but that's a lot of weight.

Eh, I'm skeptical that you'd save any weight in the real world, without spending an absolute fortune. Most aftermarket wheels won't match the quality of OE, and you'll have to worry about offset, scrub radius, thrown rocks, looking like a dumbass, etc.

It's also worth noting that tire weight =/= wheel weight. The forces it takes to stop/start a tire will always be greater since the tire is the furthest thing outwards. So, even if you are able to drop a pound or two on wheels, it won't make have the same effect adding or subtracting tire weight will.

Yep, agree with you regarding unsprung mass. Tires are the farthest out and will have the greatest impact, followed by rims. 1st priority for me is tire size and weight, then rims. I'm wanting to go bigger, mostly for looks, but I also don't want to get carried away. Trying to stick in the +25-+35mm offset range as well.

Yes, almost 20 lbs more. That is a lot of weight, but if they perform and you are happy with them, that's really all that matters. I'm simply looking for a "compromise". Not sure exactly what I'll end up with but maybe I'll test drive a big wheeled Ranger at the dealer just to see how much I'll either like or hate it. :)

The wheels I'm looking to get are like 20-22 lbs each(several websites list differing weights so ill probably contact the manufacturer for the accurate weight). My goal is to stay around the same combined weight, which is 60lbs

I have yet to see a better option than oe wheels with one inch (no more, no less) wheel spacers.

Here's some Tremor (nee ROW Raptor) wheels, with spacers, and my itty bitty 285/70-17 nokian winters.

Here are four tires that weigh between 31-39 pounds, maybe do further research on them if interested.

https://www.discounttire.com/buy-tires/goodyear-assurance-maxlife/p/37233 31 pounds****

https://www.discounttire.com/buy-tires/bridgestone-dueler-lx/p/101356 (stock on some Rangers, ofc hankooks fit your criteria as well)

https://www.discounttire.com/buy-tires/michelin-defender-ltx-m-s/p/11326

https://www.discounttire.com/buy-tires/cooper-discoverer-htp-ii/p/88122

Cooper, Bridgestone, Goodyear has $110 instant savings on the deals page as well currently.

Hope this helps.

Do you have any pics with your AT2 Hankook's? That taller profile of the 70 probably really makes it look beefier?

Almost looks stock. Looks beefy when side-by-side with a stock Ranger.

Definitely looks better than my 60's! I was thinking of doing the same or go with Deegan 38's in the same size. Tread wise they look somewhat similar but aren't too heavy.

Being they are taller, is there more squish when driving or pretty similar?

Rides as well as stock (better in my case since I replaced LT rated tires). I have Bilstein shocks in front and back, and I would definitely recommend them in the back. If you want to level the stance, then get them for the front. They are really only a tiny bit larger diameter than the stock ATM and corners, noise and road performance is the same. 265/70R17 can fit without any suspension modification.
