Looking under my truck today and the lower control arms bushing is cracked on both sides.

Doing my research and I can only find a total LCA replacement.

Anyone have any knowledge here?

That just looks like torn ball joint boots. You should be able to just replace the boots.

Worst case, replace the ball joints. Ford doesn't show a separate part # for the boot, but the aftermarket might have something.

Unfortunately, I’ve done a lot of research and I haven’t been able to find a specific brand, aftermarket manufacturer, or an OEM replacement for this. All I have found is the fact that I may just have to order lower control arms to fix this issue. I know that the Ford warranty department may not be willing since I have a big ol lift kit on my truck.

Not my favorite brand (Mevotech), but they are out there. They were probably torn when someone stuck a pickle fork in there to pry the joint apart.

The pictures are of the lower ball joint. It looks like the boots are torn. The boots are to keep water out and grease in the ball joint. Are they leaking grease? It doesn't appear to be, but did you wipe them off before taking the pictures?

I'd put a needle on a grease gun and pack it with a tacky grease.
I've done that in the past without there even being a tear in the boot, just poking a hole with the needle.

Get rid of the ridiculous lift that's putting extra stress on your suspension and steering components.

You were warned about this becoming a problem, there's no free lunch.
Thanks for the comment Rich. Actually, the lift puts zero stress on this component! Unfortunately, things like this happen when you actually use your vehicle, which is something you likely can’t relate to driving a stock truck.

I made this post looking for any suggestions, and I have actually received some help- that is, until you came along. So, if you’re not doing to comment something constructive, let’s just refrain from saying anything at all. You say your personal rule is to interject ‘humor’, but it doesn’t seem like you’re very good at that one either.

Get a life.

I wonder if the damage was caused by a previous owner?

No, it was definitely me. And I’m openly admitting the fact that I treat this track like shit, however, I’m really just looking for a fix here. I can’t find any OEM bushing or boot that looks like it’s worth a shit ?

It is not a bushing, it is a ball joint. If you are searching for a part online, you will want to use the proper terminology.

I had a ball joint on an older car with a split boot due to over-greasing. I cleaned the outside of the boot and applied a couple of layers of silicone gasket sealer on it over the split. It never leaked any grease for the life of the car.

I’ll try that thank you.
