Our first curtain climber arrives in October ? Putting the passenger seat on the dash to get a rear-facing infant seat in is a no-go. Besides, the center is safer in a T-bone situation. I was surprised to find that the center position doesn’t have any LATCH anchors. Fortunately, the support bar that runs behind the seat makes things easy to attach to. I used a 32mm shaft collar, a 1/4x1” U-bolt, and a bit of stock that was laying around.

Has your kiddo outgrown the use of these yet? I am looking for a solution to mount a rear facing infant seat in the center like you have it. I tried yesterday to put it on the passenger side but that requires the front seat to be scooted up so far it makes it unusable.

did you try just using one latch from each side?

I have not. I will give that a go this evening, but I do like what OP has made.
I personally would much rather use the manufacturer-specified and tested solution for a safety-critical application than something homemade.

Very true. I will see if using the side anchors makes the side seats unusable. That would be my only concern.

I’m still using these but by now we have switched to forward facing. The side anchors were too wide to get hooked up.

I remember in the 80's, we used a seat belt to secure seat. NEVER had an issue or heard of one. And doing that way was still a pain in the ass the first time.
