Has anyone installed the 7 pin harness, any tips. Do all those little connectors end being used. Have the Curt hitch and harness and ready to install. Hitch looks straight forward. The harness looks a little mor work.

Its actually not that bad. The biggest problem I had was the sleeve. Seems there is more trimming that needed to be done to get it to fit, or perhaps I got the wrong one because the clips that hold it in place were way too shallow to fit the thickness of the bumper with the plastic cut out. They don't really give you directions with it.

As Marcus notes, the 4/7 pin "sleeve" requires a little bit of massaging to install, but the wiring harness removal and installation is easy. Just drop the spare, unplug the main connector, remove the 2 license plate sockets, and unplug the 4 parking sensors and remove the "christmas tree" clips that hold the harness to the bumper. Then just reinstall the new harness in reverse order. Since you will be disconnecting and reconnecting the rear parking sensors, it is a good idea to test after swapping the harness. I used a plastic trash barrel and backed up to it to check my sensors.

Can confirm that the Curt hitch install is very straightforward. Here is a link with details https://www.ranger5g.com/forum/threads/curt-receiver-hitch.2624/#post-34376

Just finished harness, plug and curt hitch. Curt hitch probable took 20 minutes to install, using jack stands and elastic cord to hold nose up. Harness was a pain, trying to unplug sensors was the hard part. probable took 45 min. originally I thought i was going to plug into original harness into old harness but after your guys help I realized you pull out old harness and put in new harness with extra plug for 7 wire hookup. I left every thing in place on bumper and cut out the hole in the plastic bumper using a cutoff saw and a little grinder. Really was pretty simple. The problem was getting the metal ears on plug to snap in place. Finally bent the metal ears in a little on bumper and ground a little off metal clips. After I got done I wonder if the best way might be to grind off enough of the plastic so that the whole plug fits flush with the metal part of bumper. Just a thought.

Yes I had wondered that too. Also wondered if there is another sleeve part number floating around that has different clips on the side. I also thought about trimming the plastic more to get the sleeve to fit to the metal behind it but I also bent the clips to fit.

I bought this harness from E trailer but I don't like how there's no mounting location given for the 7 way. Undecided if I'll get the ford part intsead.
