2021 XLT 4x4. Just purchased in October and noticed the transmission is very Jerky. Had it to the dealership who reset it to factory specs and it's still jerky even after 3500 miles. Is this normal for a ford? This is my first and maybe the last ford.
You may want to look into this... I did it on mine and it is silky smooth.

I currently own a company 2019 Ranger XLT bought new 11/2019 with around 30,000 miles, a company 2021 Ranger Lariat with 2,000 miles, and a personal 2021 Explorer with 12,000 miles and here are my impressions:

1. Dealers suck and cannot be trusted. Most only care care about getting your vehicle in and out quick and will avoid any service that Ford will not reimburse them for. Most are also understaffed and likely do not have enough skilled techs.
2. I drove the '19 Ranger until last December before handing it off to one my managers. It has had jerky shifting, but the bigger issue was a surging problem I thought was the trans but actually turned out to be the EGR valve. There is a lengthy discussion about that on this forum.
3. My 2021 Ranger has been mostly very smooth shifting after only 2 months.
4. The Explorer is a personal vehicle my wife mostly drives. Has been smooth as well.
5. All 3 downshift hard occasionally under certain conditions, but so have other vehicles I've owned.
6. Dealers suck and cannot be trusted.
7. My company has a 3rd Ranger on order with no idea when we will see it.
8. Screw Ford and the way they have handled fleet customers in the past year. We are ordering a Silverado HD in May (soonest we can) to replace an aging F150.

In Germany they changed the oil to one with another viscosity, afaik. Seems the transmission is a bit picky depending on surrounding temperatures. And yes, they only act if the customer complains!

Mine is the same. It's my one major dislike about this truck. It upshifts smooth for the most part, but downshift is jerky as hell, especially around town and when I'm about to come to a stop. I get a feeling as if someone tapped my rear bumper if I don't slow down just right before fully stopping
I agree with the stopping comment with my truck.
Generally speaking, I find the trans pretty good & I hate automatics.

My Rangers a 2020 w/ 17k mi, I noticed on upshifting in the lower gears it's a little jerky. Doesn't really bother me tho. I just figured with 10 gears to shift I was going to feel something.
