And I got a kid and an Australian mortgage lol

I joke, my 5 y/o is awesome, helps work on the truck, makes styling/mod decisions and keeps me motivated. Just expensive this time of the year and absolutely garbage at washing cars ???
We can't have children and never wanted to adopt and now we're both almost 50. Hoping I can retire in another 13 years and my wife soon after. But enough of all that, LOL!

Not much left to do to the little truck, except drive it!

Got to almost 80* today, so I put the wheels back on and drove it out of the garage and took some pics. It's filthy, but a bath is coming tomorrow/this week?

IMG_20211226_144410613_HDR.jpg

It looks clean, but trust me, she's F'in filthy!

Oh, I'm thinking about removing the raised tailgate letters. Mostly because it's super difficult to clean around them. Thinking about putting some Matte Black overlays on it instead?

Anyway, I installed my tailgate seal.
IMG_20211226_143140783_HDR.jpg

It fixed the gap I wanted filled :)

Put my Dog Rear Seat Cover on, for my little Pitbull. He didn't know what to think of it, LOL!
IMG_20211226_144138885.jpg

Installed the little ignition trim ring, that @Dean makes. It looks so much better with this trim piece!
IMG_20211226_144259847.webp

Worked on my pressure washer modifications. New quick connect installed on the washer.
IMG_20211226_140234391.webp

New 1.1mm Orifice in my Adam's Polishes Foam Cannon to replace the stock 1.25mm Orifice.
IMG_20211226_134412942.webp

Lastly, I finally put up two, 4' shelves to accommodate all my freshly acquired Adam's detailing products!
IMG_20211226_153905340.webp

This probably won't be enough space, since I'll have more stuff on the way, LOL!

I also rearranged the Towel/Brush/Polisher cabinet, since I got more Adam's Polishes stuff from relatives for Christmas, ha!
IMG_20211226_153921494.webp

I still want to get most of the interior panels painted Black. I would love to get the A and B pillars Black. Headliner yes, but it isn't pressing at the moment...

Honestly not much left to do on this build...

Just a few minutes ago, I ordered an SCT BDX Tuner with six 5-Star Tuning tunes preloaded in it. Also picked up a Mishimoto Oil Catch Can. Hopefully, it'll all be here next week, along with the adjustable control arms, so I can get back into my little truck!

Haven't done much to the truck since last week, but I finally decided to take the silver dash pieces out of the interior earlier.

It wasn't difficult at all and I managed not to break anything... However, I fought with trying to get the damn airbag out of the steering wheel for an hour+, without any luck... I know what you're supposed to do, but I kept trying and trying to get the airbag released and I couldn't do it, so I said screw it...

So, if I cannot remove that trim piece, I guess I'm going to order that carbon fiber overlay for it, even though I'm not a fan of CF...

I also did this mod, since I had everything removed.

Hopefully, mid next week, I'll get the suspension fixed, so I can drive the little Ranger again, since it's been almost 2 weeks... :(

It’s looking so great and you’re getting so close to finish line. I’m not a lowered truck guy but I’m loving your build Jason. Those interior touches are money!

Ok, spill it Jason, what’s the trouble with the steering wheel, mate? I looked at mine and figured it was an easy one, almost ordered a new one a few days ago, but am waiting until company is open again. And making I haven’t gone too far in boss man’s eyes over the break ? Is the airbag the issue? I’ve removed a heap of other makes and models and the Ranger had me thinking “this one will be easy…” lol

In saying that, we Aussies don’t have a telescopic column, but I can’t see that making a big difference. Any feedback appreciated mate.

I too have removed my share of airbags from many different vehicles in the past, but this damn truck just whipped my ass earlier today and I was so tired, I just said screw it! I even watched this fella multiple times, but I believe the 12-16 bags are different.

So, I've been on this forum since April '21, but a fan of Rangers for years. I just sold my 2003 Ranger Supercab Edge Plus 4x4 to a co-worker this morning, for his son. I had that truck for 6 years and never had a problem with it! 4.0, 5 speed manual, loaded!

So, on August 6th, my wife and I decided to ordered a new Ranger, the way we wanted it. I honestly didn't know you could even do that anymore! This is what we ordered:

'21 Ranger XLT
Super Crew
2wd
301A Package
Shadow Black
Black Appearance Package
Trailer Tow Package
Remote Start
Locking Rear Diff

When I heard the Ranger was coming back to the USA in 2019, I was ecstatic! I knew it was in Australia, as I follow a guy on YouTube, who has an offroading tour company and as most of your know, the 2012 Ranger was still made in Australia...

So, plans for my Ranger are: I am going to clone, (as close to as I can), the SCT 2019 SEMA Ranger! This one to be exact:
75398211_10156522837412554_2389516655836266496_n.jpg
My wheels will be the same, but none of that gold/bronze color on mine, or the vinyl on the side. This will be an all murdered out truck, similar to the one above!

Ford Dealer told us it would be 3-8 months before it would arrive. Last Thursday, Oct 14th, the dealer called me and said you're truck has arrived and we were all very surprised it showed up in 2.5 months!

Yesterday morning, my wife and I went the dealer and brought it home. Here it is, in our backyard, when we finally got home about 5-6pm!
IMG_20211016_181449972.jpg

Once we were home, I immediately got underneath it and removed the side steps. They were part of the Black Appearance Pkg and I didn't want them to begin with, LOL! This truck is going to be dropped, so they're most definitely not needed :)

So, today, (Sunday), I installed a 3" stubby antenna and the Raptor grille.
IMG_20211017_164530484_HDR.jpg

IMG_20211017_164518269_HDR.jpg

I've also ordered the "damper", some weathertech/Husky floor mats, Lower Grille Insert and even some Gloss Black Mirror Skull Caps & Door Handle Covers.

I have a ton of parts to order and hope it happens over the next several months. I will also have to get some parts paint matched.

I'm very excited about doing this (not excited about having a monthly payment though) and I should be around here for a long time!
Beautiful truck off the lot.

See this one off a 2017 PX2? Makes it look easy.

Just keep your head away I guess.

I gave that video a dislike earlier, since it only shows how to take it off, after it's already off the column. If I could see the wire, it would be simple, LOL!

Indeed it was, but I like to be different than everyone else that has the same truck off the lot :)

Fair call. I hope my wheel that I’m very close to ordering, comes with instructions. Or that they work Saturdays.
No dice on the airbag removal. I've wasted almost 3 hours over the last 2 days on something that "should" be damn simple... :( I shined a tiny LED light in between the airbag and trim piece and could see the "springy" piece, which is nothing more than a plastic guide, at least that's what it looks like. It has a gap in it, that fits around whatever you're using to attempt to release the airbag... If you push the tool to the center of the bag, it'll hit metal. You have to wiggle it a bit to get it to go under the bag/metal, then it feels like you're actually "pushing" something springy now! I did this for an hour and a half this morning, back and forth between both side, while also pulling the damn airbag towards me, with no luck on releasing it.... ?

I also removed the telescoping trim from around the column, hoping I could push the wire from the back of the wheel, like in that video I gave a dislike to? No luck there either... I really wish there was some how to videos about this, because what happens, if you need to replace one of those switches on the steering wheel?

I guess I'll just order the Carbon Fiber cover for it and hope it looks nice? I don't really like the CF look at all, I wish they had that trim piece in Gloss Black... I'll eventually figure out how to remove it...

Alrighty, I got super frustrated with this whole dash trim mess, especially on the steering wheel, so I ordered these:
Screenshot 2022-01-01 at 14-37-32 Amazon com Carbon Fiber Color Steering Wheel Frame Decorato...webp

Screenshot 2022-01-01 at 14-44-45 Steering Wheel Frame Cover For Ford Ranger WIldtack T6 T7 2...webp

I almost ordered a full B&I trim kit, but the only color I was mildly interested in was, Piano Black and I didn't think that would look good in the cockpit of the Ranger.

So, I started watching vinyl wrap YouTube videos and thought about trying to wrap everything, which I may still do for the steering wheel trim piece. The Carbon Fiber one I bought on Amazon will most likely get wrapped in Satin Black, I may try to paint it, but unsure how it'll turn out? I also think the wrap might last longer too. The Red one I ordered from China...., will be painted Satin Black.

So, I went back to the garage and put some of the truck back together and removed the Pedal Commander and AutoStop Eliminator, since my Tune will eliminate the need for both of those, (so I'll need to sell them on here). I'll say this, the truck will freak out, with the A/C stuff removed from it, LOL!

Anyway, it's damn near 80* today, so I decided to sand, clean and paint the dash pieces. Here's they are all sanded and cleaned.
IMG_20220101_142133091.webp

And here they are with 2 coats of Satin Black. I'm going to Satin Clear them soon.
IMG_20220101_142759552.jpg

I honestly hate painting, but it doesn't look too bad.
IMG_20220101_142807112.webp

My tuner and catch can should be here by Wednesday. Hoping my suspension will be here by next weekend, so I can give this monstrous Dodge Megacab Diesel 4x4 back to my stepfather, LOL! It barely fits in my garage...
