I'm betting that's purely coincidental.

I have a friend, who is a professional wedding photographer, who ordered memory cards because he couldn't get to a local photography shop (think professional cards, not just SD cards). When they missed his 2 day delivery window, Amazon customer service told him that 2 days was when they guarantee it will leave the facility, but not delivery.

I have cancelled my Prime account, as I'm returning to buying in store. I bought a car seat that was supposed to be delivered Sunday, then Monday, then pushed to Wednesday, then SURPRISE delivered Tuesday. Amazon has lost what made Amazon a benefit. Honestly, its not worth the hassle of not going to the store. And I am more than annoyed at the retail delivery fee we have here now.

Anyways, back on topic: I bought the Mishimoto charge pipes for my Ranger. I always himmed and hawed about it, but then I saw a picture of the OE charge pipe and realized how big a restriction it is.

I use prime by the month 2-3 times a year. I've noticed that Amazon will give you a delivery date on the main product page, then when you go to checkout the date is later out. Sometimes the overnight date gets changed to 2-3 days out. I placed an order yesterday, and they committed to delivery by 9pm the next day. Come 6pm I saw that it had not shipped. I understand exceptions, but lately this has become the rule. It has happened with increasing frequency.

So I called Amazon support, and asked them why they could not keep their commitments. I told them I didn't care when they shipped a product, but that when they set an expectation, to meet it. They offered to compensate me for the trouble. I told them I wasn't calling to shake them down, and that I only wanted them to stop the bait and switch tactics when it came to delivery dates. I expected an honest estimate of delivery dates, and that the exception had become the rule. And that I saw no value in Prime membership if they could not deliver on their promises. She told me that it wasn't set to be delivered today as promised and apologized, stating that we (Amazon) should do better.

I was very polite and wished the Amazon rep a happy holiday for whatever country they were in and thanked her for her professionalism and candidness.

I thought nothing else about it, but 2 hours later I checked on my order, and it was out to be delivered an hour earlier than committed to!

Seems Amazon got the message.
I only use Prime when they offer the free month which is usually a couple times a year. I just activated it the other day because I need to order a bunch of plumbing stuff (sinks, faucets and valves) for the new house and they had the best price. I ordered the master shower controls last night around 10:30 pm and it said it would be delivered on Sunday December 1 and the shower head on Wednesday December 4th. When I got up this morning it now said they were all coming on Friday the 4th so I called to ask what happened? I have no idea what she was talking about because I could barely understand her and asked for a supervisor which is like pulling teeth now. She kept insisting that they were going to tell me the same thing which I had no clue what that was because I couldn't understand her and was trying to be nice.

Finally got a Super and she wasn't sure what happened and I explained that I didn't "need" these right away but I expected them asap because that was the benefit of having Prime. Long story short everything is coming on Monday which is fine but it was the principal of it. I politely told her that the last rep was extremely hard to understand and just kept telling me there was nothing she could do. She apologized and we had a good conversation for a few minutes and wished each other Happy Holidays. Most times the main reps are good to deal with but I occasionally get one that is frustrating to work with and just ask for a supervisor. Now today will be interesting because I have 3 Kohler bath under-mount porcelain sinks coming. Anyone wanna bet one if not all three will be damaged?

...Most times the main reps are good to deal with but I occasionally get one that is frustrating to work with and just ask for a supervisor...
Dealing with support that is in India can bring out the Karen in all of us ?

Well that was an impoverishing productive trip down the rabbit hole.

Looks like I'm going to order the CVF pipe kit.

Did a lot of research and found nothing but good reviews for @CVF-Jason customer support so that's where I'm buying.

Plus, since I'm going to have the front apart anyway to install the LED headlights, I figure now is the time for the charge pipes.

ESP Intercooler and Charge Pipes kit for $399.

If I did a lot of towing or stressed the truck I would have bought that.

I don't ever stress it hard enough to heat soak the stock intercooler so I just got the CVF charge pipes.

Just as I thought, one was damaged and there's another that's considerably thinner/lighter than the others. Two came from China and the thinner one came from Indonesia and of course the one from Indonesia wasn't the damaged one. ?‍♂

Luckily I got a really nice agent and because it's a 3rd party seller they have to contact then first. I'm going to give them a chance to make it right and hopefully replace the two and pray the next two come in undamaged and both from China.

I ordered a quart of 85/90 synthetic Mobil one gear oil last week from Amazon and it went out for delivery in the morning. Never showed up that day and at 10 pm got an email from Amazon with a refund. Said package was damaged and undeliverable. I can't imagine the mess that made if it broke open in the truck ? . Best part is reordered and had it 6 am the next morning. They now do 3 delivery rounds a day by us.

I debated on this one but I’m trying to avoid pulling the bumper for now. The ARB is an absolute unit. I don’t think the intercooler is a hang up for my truck and driving/wheeling. If I find it to be a problem, I can get the Mishimoto intercooler later.

My snorkel is Mishimoto and I’m really happy with it. CVFab is also good, just… had to go one way or the other.

Grabbed a CVF downpipe, Their sale seems to be as cheap as it'll get.

Also snagged some King 2.5s extended for the front for under $1k, don't see it in stock anymore so I better have gotten that last one....

I'm not sure if I can make the King 2.5 rears (Ranger specific) work with a longer shackle and leafs (2.5" rear lift)....might go for their universal 2.5 Smoothies in 10" travel. Gonna reach out to King/Accutune tomorrow

Carbon Shocks is doing a sale on bump stops that should be a good match with some new suspension. The Foutz raptor kit got me thinking, but theirs is crazy expensive so I'm gonna get to fabbing.

I don't have any real complaints about Amazon. I will say the last time I trashed my phone, I was only without it one day. I found a replacement on Amazon that said same day delivery. I thought 'yeah right', so I ordered it that morning. When I pulled into my driveway after work, there was a strange car. It was a personal vehicle with a plain-clothed woman, with my new phone! And I live in rural Va.

I don't have any complaints per se but I would rather use someone else when I can. I don't care for Bezos and I don't like that many small businesses went under because of them but this also happened because of others like Walmart, Home Depot and Lowe's.

But I will give credit when credit is due. I called Amazon after I got the broken sink and I also didn't like that the one from Indonesia was considerably thinner and asked for replacements. It was purchased through a 3rd party vendor and the agent said I'd have to wait 2-3 days for a response from them. I then asked for a supervisor and he was understanding knowing I was going to repurchased all 3 again (from a different vendor) and gave me a full credit back. The supervisor told me that they (Amazon) would now deal directly with the vendor and to give it 48-72 hours. If I did not receive any email from the vendor he said to just keep or dispose of the 3 sinks. :shock:

This time I made sure to purchase from Amazon (sold and shipped by Amazon) and the 3 new ones came in today in perfect condition and double boxed. These though are made in Mexico and they were much better than all the others. Now I have 5 good Kohler undermount sinks and one going into the trash on Sunday. lol I guess I'll sell the other 2 but will wait until the others are installed just in case something happens to one of them. Luckily there's a good size sunroom at the house we're renting which was empty when we got here but is now almost full from things we purchased for the house. Oh, there's a 70" flat screen tv arriving in 15 minutes too! ?‍♂ Darn Costco and their Black Friday sales. :curse:


Pretty soon I can start a plumbing business. lol

Sometimes companies come out on top for a reason. Amazon employs a shit ton of people. Even plain-clothed people with their own vehicles can make a good buck.

I started buying from Amazon when they were an online bookstore in 1995. They were small and hungry. Got my books quickly, even used hard to find out of print books.

When I call they occasionally mention how long I've been doing business with them.
