Has anyone sold their Ranger and had any success is selling their aftermarket parts they put on? That is if you kept your factory parts like the front bumper, winch, lift,, etc?

Tuner and tune are easy ones.

I may trade in the Ranger on my GT500 to help cut the cost down while I wait for my Lighting. I have several mods that I can pull off and sell if it seems to be worth it.

Just wondering if anyone has had luck doing so.

I know on my totaled 2017 5.0 the insurance company said if I put the stock parts back on I can pull the aftermarket parts off. I did and made about $2,000 off the parts. The Mustang aftermarket market is vast and lots of people doing mods.

When you turn your own wrenches, it makes it a feasible option.

^This.

Generally expect getting around half what you paid when selling your aftermarket parts.

Nobody is going to pay close to new when the new ones come with warranty and recourse in case of an issue.

You can get a bit better than half on things that don't really have potential issues, like bumpers or skids, but still nowhere close to new. This part may be inaccurate with sought after items as 6+ month delays to get something may motivate folks to pay more and get it now.

I'm on the Jeep forums as well and it's sometimes amazing what people think their stuff is worth.

Though it is funny to see something listed for a ridiculous price and someone says:

"Is this still available?

"Yes it is!"

"Not surprised. Your price is stupid"

I would expect that demand for stock parts will increase as time goes by, especially if you live in an area with lots of Rangers. I had a bit of luck selling some items (wheels/tires) for my 2021 Ranger back in April, 2021, but other items (bumper bits, springs) didn't catch any interest either on this forum or on Craigslist. I hear Facebook is all the rage now for used items, so you might try there if you get a Ranger and mod it.

Thanks for the replies. About half would be nice. I think I managed about 1/3 for the mustang parts. Sway bars, GT350 strut tower brace, and a lot of other suspension parts, CAI, tuner, etc.

The front bumper would be a big chunk if I even got have of the original price. ADD stuff ain't cheap neither is the warn winch that is mounted in there. But it would have to be local because shipping on that mofo would be crazy high for that chunk of steel.

EDIT: Just looked at ADD site and they no longer offer a Range front bumper. They have a coming soon Ranger Raptor bumper but I did find some on other's sites.

I've had good luck selling take off aftermarket Ranger bits locally.

I do live in a fairly heavily populated area though and that helps. I've got about 4 million people within quick meet up distance, so there's surely quite a few Ranger owners nearby.

A lot of people lurk the forum just for said purchases.

I also have found it helps to price aggressively. If I'm selling something I list it for a good price that anybody looking for said piece will know is a good deal. That seems to limit the bullshit involved.

Depends on area what parts. Certain parts will sell faster then others. Also depends on price. Price them to sell and I bet someone will grab them.

There's definitely interest. Its how I snagged my rear Fox 2.0s. Curious what all you're trying to part with.
