Hi guys,
I am having an airflow issue in my Ranger and I want to see if anybody else has the same issue.

(1) When I select the icon that sends air to regular vents, I get good airflow out of the main vents (see photo #1).

(2) When i select the icon that sends air to my feet only, I get air down there but not as much as I would like (see photo #2). It's not like it's the same amount of air as in #1 just redirected to the floor.

(3) Finally, when I select BOTH icons at the same time (see photo #3), which would split the air between the upper and the floor, I can hear more air noise near the front of the dash but I get virtually NO AIRFLOW from either the main vents or the floor vents. It's like it is almost completely blocked.

Anybody else experience this?

Please note that I have the fan control turned to maximum for each of the three cases above.
Check the cabin filter. Up behind the glove box. I had sudden airflow issues. Freaking mouse built a nest on top of the filter.

UDATE: Day 2 at the dealer and all diagnostics come back within spec, but the acknowledge that it is just not cooling as it should.
Thoughts?
Looking at the diagram below, there doesn't appear to be any sort of coolant inlet valve that controls coolant flow into or out of the HVAC system. Nothing on the water pump or radiator diagrams, either. So hot coolant must always be flowing thru the HVAC system.
#13 (HVAC Air Adjustment Control Motor) #15 (HVAC Air Inlet Door Actuator) seem to be the only way to control how air is directed inside the system: over the heater core or over the evaporator. Just guessing that one or more of those actuators, or the doors that they control are acting up.

There's definitely something wrong because mine freezes me out here in AZ. That was a huge issue for me in my Tacoma,it NEVER got cold enough. I could drive 10 miles with the fan on high and it would never cool off. When I test drove my Ranger it was 108 out and it was like an ice box within a couple miles. Even on days where it's hit 114 it might take an extra couple miles to cool off if my trucks been sitting out in the sun at work but it still cools off nicely.
Hmmmmm....
I'm not having the same results you are. I have a 30 minute drive home from work, and at our current 110*+ temps, I'm just barely getting cool (certainly not cold at any time). A/C works fine in the lower 100's and below, but not when it gets this toasty. Time to ask my service guy to check it, I guess. Oil change coming up very soon.

Mine was out in the sun since 6:45 am and even today at 113 it cooled it good. I was only about 9 miles from my house so it wasn't frigid but it was cold. Now if I could just remember to put my sunshade in the front window so my gear shifter and steering wheel isn't scorching hot. :headbang:

Well - my Ford Dealer has been working hard at solving my AC problem, I will give them that. They never denied or pushed back at its poor performance.

After running all the diagnostics on my truck, then running side-by-side diagnostics with a same truck but a model year newer, they don't have a "smoking gun".

They reached out to Ford on next steps and they have approved swapping out low pressure side components to see if that solves the problem. All the parts are on order, except one - the accumulator. Apparently they don't have them in stock anywhere and they are on the hunt for one right now. They have no idea how long it will take to get a hold of the part - 2 days? 2 weeks? They couldn't say.

Once they finally track the parts down and get them swapped they will perform the tests again to see where we are.

It sounding more and more like my vehicle will not be ready for my 3,000+ mile road trip the first week of September.

I have the same problem. Good airflow everywhere on all settings, except the floor. Only a noticeable flow when on highest fan setting. Hope to God this does not have to be a trip to the dealer as the few experiences I have had are been exceptionally poor.

Wouldn't be the first Ford truck I've owned with a blend door issue.

Mine on floor only makes a lot of racket for not a lot of flow. Work fine on every other setting.
Seems like flowing through the face vents is what it likes.

My 2012 Focus was the exact same way, so I haven't thought too much about it.

Yeah, I noticed it this weekend. Kind of a bummer, me previous cars lost airflow but in the ranger it seems an excessive amount of airflow is lost when it's distributed to all vents. A bummer.

Herm... I may have to have the dealer look at mine then. When I have it on the face, it blows GREAT! However, as soon as I add the feet, it drops down to hardly anyflow. It seems like the fan that is set to 7, drops down to like 1.5. I expect some sort of degradation since it's pushing the same amount of air through more outlets, but the amount of the drop is ridiculous.
Did you ever find a fix. My 2021 is doing the exact same thing.

Not really. I put open cell foam in the rear underseat vents (intending to block a large portion of air to the back, increasing what gets pushed out to the front) which helped a *smidge*. I could probably just tape them off at this point based off of how infrequently people ride back there, but I've just learned to live with it :(.
