I just installed a double USB outlet inside the console. Branched power source from the power point on the rear of the console for the rear seats. It takes a lot less space than the picture implies and the little tray slides right over it. Also the armrest closes on my charge cord without strain and a small tablet or large phone will fit inside with it plugged in with the lid closed.

Nicely done! Where did you get the USB ports that you used?

I had considered doing something similar before I decided to add a wireless charger in the front lower tray instead. You get power only from those rear ports, correct? (meaning you cannot use them to connect Android Auto)

The info on the part is in the Dash thread (Ebay) they came with the housing included.
Charge only, with one side more rapid than the other.
https://www.ebay.com/itm/121823816737

I installed them because I am sometimes annoyed by cords strung all over the cab and hanging in front of components in the dash.
Particularly wanted the power supply for the dash so I could charge my phone and run my GPS with no visible cords.
The one in the console will be great for my wife with her phone and tablet, to keep everything neat and convenient.
Finally... I wanted to reserve the indash USB with the interface for use with flash drive music or other Items which require interface with the radio.
I would like to have more features in each port, but at least it does free up the one full featured port that I do have.
My TC sometimes actually starts playing music off the phone when I just want to charge it... so having "charge only" ports can have their advantages.

Did you take the center console apart or slip the wires up the side?

Actually I only had to pop the panel on the back of the console and drill one 1/4" hole through the back wall of the inside of the console from behind.
The bezel thing came with the charger and it took two screws to hold it in place.
Power is obtained from the 12V harness attached to the port on the back of the panel which was popped off for access.
The panel pops right off without difficulty or fear of damage.

Do you have any more details about the electrical hook up? Do you happen to have a picture of how it connects to the existing wiring in the rear of the console?

The panel containing the 12V powerpoint on the back of the console is removable.
This reveals the wiring connected to the powerpoint and also allows access to the inside rear wall of the console. A small hole was then drilled to the interior in order to pass two wires through so that they could be attached to the wires at the back of the powerpoint.
Sorry I didn't take a picture of the rear of the console while the panel was removed.

So, did you have to cut and solder? Or is there a harness that can be used to split the existing USB power supply to the new one?

Scotchlocks work great, but it would be easy enough to simply make a small plug-in harness with two pairs of Stacon disconnects and a couple of short pieces of wire.
Plug that adapter harness into the back of the 12V outlet , then plug the original power supply wires into the adapter harness.
Go ahead and pop the panel off... you'll see how simple it is from there.
BTW; mine is an STX with no inverter in the back of the console...
