I have an XL with just the single USB port in the center console. Id like the duel USB ports, can I just order the part below for the Lariat and just plug it in or if someone has done this before, what else was needed?

Thanks.
When I replaced the fascia with Lightforce I swapped out one of my 12 volt plug ins with this - https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07FXH5ZZK/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_fabc_XbjeGbWEYD6A8?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1

I don't think that will work if you have the base radio. I think it's just a USB extension cable behind there the base radio. The dual port is a powered USB hub and uses a mini USB cable and a harness that provides power.

I'm 100% sure on this. I haven't pulled apart a Ranger with a base radio but that's how it was on other Ford's with the base radio.

After comparing the 2 parts I was afraid of something like that. Ah well.

I just used the plugin adapter like I listed so I don't lose the outlet as well. I see no need to wire in something. (I have the base radio).

Is that a plug, and play thingy there Mike? Or, is there wiring to be run?
I used 2 of these to tap into the + &- so I didn't have to cut off the oem plug in case I wanted to change back.

I have never looked at another Ranger (base or xlt) just guessed they might all have 2 12 volt outlets.

I would never ever use these things in my truck! Worst invention for wiring ever made. Poor connections and damages original wiring.

Only good for charging, no data connection whatsoever.
Correct, since the op didn't say which he wanted, I merely showed the USB charger I opted for. The USB port on the truck doesn't charge very fast and I don't care for the android app vs sync, there may come a time when it's handy but for now I don't use it.

To each his own, I've not had a problem with them when used. It's taped and isn't in a location to work loose.
