$340 vs $289

USA Reseller with 2 year warranty vs Amazon seller 3 year chinese warranty and standard Amazon return window

All that aside either this is Caliraised supplier or they use the same supplier. Looks identical to me down to the nuts and bolt style.
It may very well be the exact same piece. My first question would be will the Amazon reseller be around in 3 years to back up the warranty? My guess is probably not.

Many American companies contact there products from China. The Chinese Company makes the product, and then packages it per the buyer's request. Thus the same product wearing a different packaging. There are many American Company that do the same thing. In my second life the company I worked for contracted with buyers to make their product, and dress it the way the buyers ask. There could be different accessories, but the main products were all the same.

The US company sends the specs to a Chinese manufacturer. The Chinese manufacturer builds the US version and all done. Then they turn the machines back on and produce the same product and label it whatever and sell it on Amazon and EBay. They do it with bicycle frames and carbon bicycle rims all of the time.

I think that first pic is the 37” version if you scroll through they show the 43” version with 18 white driving lights as well.

Do you think the specs and materials are the same? One of two things has to happen;

1. Same specs but US company asks for a premium to cover warranty replacements

2. Lower materials / specs = lower cost.

The cost difference is pretty minimal im just curious at this point.

Concerning the carbon bike frames and rims the material is the same a lot of the time. It’s the finishing details that lack, sometimes. The US products will be more refined and better QC to get them out the door. The Chinese knock off QC not so much attention to detail. I will say I ordered some carbon rims just to see. So cheap why not, 1/4 the price. When I compared them to my Roval carbon rims they were identical. Same carbon weave, same weight, same quality finish. The ChiComs defiantly steal our intellectual property and profit from it and it’s our fault. Once the US sends over their production specs they steal it. We spend the money on R&D a cost the ChiComs don’t have to recoupe. Thus one reason they under cut the US price.

I’d prefer to buy American everything but some companies price themselves out of the choice or simply do not offer a product line other than top shelf.

Most of us need light bars that can do their basic function and:

- not leak
- provide the correct output for the wattage advertised

I dont need a $1000 light bar for occasional bad weather and trail trips. I am not a baja racer. I just need one where spot means spot and not spot but moatly flood lol

Unfortunately Im not even aware of a US manufactured light that can come close to competitive with chicoms. I dont even know if at the end if the day baja and rigid dont actually come from china using their specs.

Cheap lights are easy to waterproof after the purchase but sadly beam control still seems a second thought to the cloners. If you need floods those are ok most of time.
