I haven't had the need to do this on my Ranger, but on my 68 Cutlass, it can be hard for some shops to even order the right parts for what I want to do (parts books / internet are often wrong on old cars), especially for upgrades over factory parts.

I have found shops that will install the parts I have purchased, but as others have said, without any warranty. For some work, that might not really matter anyway. What I found was that the shop was charging a 150% markup on parts that they purchased, so for low risk items, it is far cheaper to buy them myself and have them install.

Good luck!

Truer words were never spoken: "it's all about the dealership you deal with."
My dealership installed the FP tune that I bought from Levittown with no problems and charged only $112 to do it. They, also changed out headlight bulbs (upgrade I bought) when I had my Ranger serviced with no complaints. :sunglasses:
