How to remove read SuperCab dome light?

[ Subject should be "rear", not "read"...]

I've asked this as pat of other threads, but no luck, so starting a thread.

Does anyone know how to remove the rear dome light in a SuperCab (XLT)?
I'm looking to access the area above it.

I have the full technical shop manuals, but they do NOT include this information
(eg in the Interior Lighting section)

I've tried everything I can think of over the past few weeks, and I can only remove the transparent cover. Doing anything more seems like it will break something...

If it's not in the manual, I would think then that it's literally part of the headliner, and removing it would not be in your best interest. Sadly, this means to access behind it, you'll need to drop the headliner.

More often than not i feel like interior pieces just snap in. I haven't removed the back, but it is always a nerve-racking process.

It feels like it should just snap out, but i think it doesn't.
No amount of force gets it out ; i've looked for clips ; etc.

It might be installed from above, like Jeff mentioned...
