Thanks...have read a bit about the Anderson's, but not too much comparing it to the older style bar type.. Maybe the "loosey" feel comes from the long chain flexing a bit more than a bar set up.
I've had my Blue Ox set up dialed in and has not given me any problems, so I'll most likely stick with it.
I'd love to compare them using my truck and trailer, but thats a big hunk of $$$ just to compare.
To bad we’re not in the same neck of the woods. We could swap them out and be all scientific about it ?

Not sure how I missed this thread but we tow our 2023 Grand Design Imagine XLS 23LDE with the Ranger. Have a 2020 4x2 XLT FX2. Tows just fine. Of course you have to be aware of trucks and I don’t tow over 65 mph but it’s totally fine and the only time I felt like I was heavy was when I was going to empty both gray tanks and the black tank as all were quite full. That said, always tow with empty tanks. The WDH also needs to be dialed in as you’d expect also my door sticker shows a payload as 1674lbs. Anyway, I wouldn’t go bigger as the margin of safety just won’t be there with a bigger camper.

This is actually on the "shortlist". We currently have a 178bhsk since our daughter is 11 and she sometimes has a friend, or one of her cousins, along. This seemed to be a great "intro trailer" but in a few years though we suspect being in the camper with Mom and Dad will seem "corny" to her. Heck we leave for a trip tomorrow where we meet with 9 other family (friends and related) and she wanted me to bring the tent we bought for her when we car camped, so she can campsite hop (most of the crew for these trips are car campers). Because of this dynamic our upgrade shortlist is couples campers with either hide-a-bed sofas and/or convertible dinettes.

The dinette sleeping is small so if they’re adult sized that’s gonna be a tough one. We’d contemplated either having someone sleep in the recliners or putting a single air mattress on the floor. We never measured to see if that would work but just wanted to share our thoughts on extra temporary sleeping locations for the occasional guest. Other than that we absolutely love the camper. Am sharing what the bed looks like in there after my wife’s decorating. Oh the mattress it comes with is terrible as is probably typical for campers. We got some $300 memory foam one that was good but we also have 2 two inch memory gel type foam toppers on top of that and it is very comfortable. Since it’s the size of a full household style queen mattress , you can even put in a tempurpedic if you’re so inclined
