Don't think I have pondered that as well.
You can walk up to a drive up ATM. I used to all the time in the mail truck with the drivers side on the wrong side. I've walked up when I was a passenger before.

You can also walk to a drive-in. Or you can load a four students to shopping cart in middle of the night, one being the driver, one being the passenger, one playing the engine, one playing the radio and one pushing the cart to the drive-in. Or..

Honest to God true story. Was out drinking with my brother and buddies in upstate Maine decades ago. Bar closed and I wanted food. 20 minutes away there was a Burger King and a liquor store for more! When I got to BK the door was locked, they said drive thru only. I said I’m on foot and they said sorry cars only. ? Ok, convenient store right there and I go marching in and buy what I need! A whole roll of aluminum foil! Wrapped my self up like the tin man and even made a cap!!! Go to the order screen at BK and place my order. Then walk up to the window. It opens and the girl starts screaming and laughing. Then everyone that was on shift came to the window to have a little look. Finally my order was ready and they hand me the bag of food. I’m trying to get my wallet out but I’m wrapped tighter than a sausage. They said don’t worry about it it’s on them for the great laughs and memories. So I go and sit on the curb and start chowing down and my ride returns. Second round of laughter ensues. To this day my brother reminds me of that night! The things we will do when we’re hammered and needing food ?

Some explanation.

I actually start mowing only after the dandelions get to fuzzy ball state. Dandelions are one of the main food sources for bees and bumblebees and the global number has been dropping each year. This has been theorized to be due to neo-nicotenoid pesticides and/or glyphosphate, but nobody really knows at the moment.

So in order to help the poor blokes out I let the dandelions grow in spring. Currently the bees have pollinated the cherries, are working on bird cherries, apple trees and oaks (they just feed on the oak, it's wind pollinated) and will soon move to dandelions.

So helping the environment, getting my trees pollinated and it gives me great excuse to skip out on mowing for a month

Longer is better during a draught.; 2-3"
I'm cutting at 2.5 now and will switch to 3 soon. My wife loves the yellow carpet of dandelions so we let them grow and cut after seeds are dispersed. Soon clover will start and our yard comes alive with bees if I leave it even longer to leave the flowers. Poor dog tries to eat the honey bees and always gets stung.
