So to start I don't live in boost or WOT. I drive pretty normally and admittedly take full advantage of the turbo while getting on the highway/passing, etc. I'm at a little over 3k on the odo and have been getting 16mpg pretty consecutively. I put in 89 octane (as opposed to 87) yesterday to see but time will tell, in one day it's about the same if not a little worse...... Ideas?
I try to never put the pedal to the floor, half way seems to give me the same results. getting 22mpg

I've got about 500 miles on my 4wd XLT crew. I have about 19 mile round trip commute. The computer indicates an average speed of 18 MPH and MPG is 16.2. I use auto-start/stop and try my best to run with a light foot.

Like the original poster - I was hoping for more...

XLT 4x4 SuperCrew 5800+ miles I drive normal and not afraid to use the boost and I get a regular hand calculated 23.3 my best so far has been 23.7mpg. And I live in mountainous WV maybe it's the brand of gas ??
I've tried several.....

I average 23.7 over 10 tankfuls (actually calculated) about 3500 miles so far. No one would ever accuse me of being a slow driver, I usually drive 5 to 8 mph over the speed limit on average. I accelerate at a moderate pace unless I need to do otherwise, I also floor it when passing. It's possible that you drive more aggressively than you think you do, but it's also possible that somethings wrong with your truck.
Agreed on both...... I think I'm average but I also think there's more to it....

Do you have the option for a higher octane maybe? Higher quality brand (Chevron, Shell, etc...) as has been mentioned?
My next and final option is 91....

Maybe a pcm flash or a tune....I can’t conceive that kind of mpg. I drive my FX4 like a bat out of hell and get 22. If I drive “normal” I get 24 and as high as 26 all highway...
Flash and tune is something new to me personally...... Need to educate myself.

I'm getting between 20 and 22 depending on how much hilly driving I do. I've noticed that after I did the trip with the trailer (about a 600 mile trip with a ~2000 lb trailer) my mileage improved. I got about 14 with the trailer. I've only used regular (which is 87 octane here), even pulling the trailer. I've never really felt the need for more power. It did GREAT with the trailer with 87.

I have learned how to get better mileage as well, but I do kick in the boost regularly. It is just too fun not to.

My only suggestion is to try and lighten your foot, but maybe there is something wrong - even when I get on it a lot, I still get like 19.

Stop launching hard amd stay off the brakes.
4x4 supercab. Have not reset since left dealer.

To be blunt, you need to drive better to get good MPG. The truck is capable.

Forgot to mention, i have yet to use 91+ octane. 89 octane used to date.

Braking is critical for good MPG. The less you are on the brakes, the better the MPG.

Many of us have found better MPG by adding some air to the tires. Most have been rolling off dealer lots at 30-32 PSI which is the recommendation, but I have found 40 PSI to be perfect for me

I run my tires at 34psi. Door tag says 30psi. Always run 87 octane. Have over 6600 miles. Average 24mpg overall for that mileage. Just got back from my weekly kayak trip to the Gulf. Hit 30mpg as I turned in the driveway. I use the start/stop as I have gotten used to it.

There are some hills here in south Georgia and northern Florida, but most of the driving on fairly level roads. I usually drive back roads to the Gulf where the max speed is 60mph.

I have found the advertised MPG as minimums. I get a solid 22-23 around town and an easy 28 on the freeway. Auto stop off. 91 octang

That said I drive as if there were an egg between my gas pedal and foot with a glass of wine on the dashboard LOL

I coast into red lights and ease out. I have used the turbo for passing and merging that's all. Now sometimes I do have some fun and the gas mileage tanks as a result

7500 miles average 23.34, mostly highway with cruse on, auto stop is disabled. 87 OCT gas and 33 PSI in the tires. i would check your tire pressure, and if that is not it i would be talking to the dealer.

Are you disabling start/stop? I find my mileage to drop quickly if it idles much.
I absolutely HATE that feature..... It's permanently with the Autostop Eliminator. hmmm.....
