On average it is .50 cents more for premium here. I use our Kroger fuel points I've gotten as much as a dollar off in the past. You can buy up to 75 gallons at that rate. When we have alot of points we take my truck and wife's Fusion at the same time, pull in behind each other and fill both up at once. I tried a tank of mid grade this time. My in town mileage was at 17.5 until recently, it jumped to 19.5mpg right before I bought mud grade. It's staying put. I will buy a tank of premium next time and not change my driving and see if there's a noticeable difference. If not I'll stay with the cheap stuff. As it is I would have to pay an extra $8 a tank full to move up and if I only gain 1 or 2 mpg that's not worth it
Might entertain premium once I have a camper to pull.

You're lucky, that's a great price. Sams out here is a 0.40 difference between 87-91. But that's still better than Fry's where premium is $2.77.9/gal. Gas was 0.30 - 0.40/gal cheaper when I first moved out here then something happened (supposedly) to a couple refineries out in CA and then ours shot up in price and never came back down!
Yeah, a bunch of refineries went down for maintenance around the same time just before the "summer season" kicked in which shot prices up and we just never recovered. I'm paying an average of ~$3.40/gal for 91 right now.

Your gas prices are always crazy high there although that's not to bad for 91. We go down to MX (Los Algodonez) right near Yuma and a couple years ago they were doing all sorts of road construction and you had to go past the exit and turn around. It was in CA and the price for regular IIRC was $3.20 but this was right off the exit where they always screw you.

Yeah. It's crazy even in town though, there are some stations that just charge $0.50+/gal more than a station a mile away of the same brand. And it often varies which station it is so I'm always checking gas buddy before I fill up just to not get screwed on the regular.
