High clearance rear bumper?

Does anyone know if there is a high clearance rear bumper in the works for our trucks? Similar to this.

I think a bumper this style would really increase our capability due to the increased departure angle and protect that area behind the rear tire from damage.

Where do you off-road that requires this? My truck spends a lot of time off-road but I’ve never gotten into anything that limits out the stock approach/departure angles. I must need to step up my game, haha.

Lol. I live in Colorado and yesterday I was running a trail thats rated as hard. When i was coming off the largest obstacle on the trail I hit in this area. It didn't do much. Just a few scratches. The other ranger and a tacoma all hit the same way.

My hitch receiver does take a good hit every now and then. If I have concerns about the front angle that is my warning that I might be doing something dumb...again. Haha

If I understand your needs, it almost sounds like you're at the point of cutting sheetmetal to make a mod that will ensure you have the ground clearance you need.

when you look at angles, i dont see a whole lot that can change with a bolt on to make a significant difference. its looking more like a whole lot of reworking to me.

Yeah. I'm looking at cutting/folding at that bodyline below the tail light if possible. I've been thinking about it pretty much since I got the truck. If you look at that Ford Performance KoH Ranger they did it and run a custom tube bumper.

The rear ARB bumper (not out yet for the US Ranger) is supposed to provide some additional rear protection but not much added clearance. I’ve seen a few different designs from Oz on the international Ranger, the green version below being the best design IMO. The blue Ranger is supposed to be the rear bumper for the US Ranger, but I don’t care much for it. Too much going on.

Check out weekendwarriors4x4 on IG. He’s got a tough Ranger with a minimalist high clearance rear bumper. The Ozzie’s do their rigs right. Americans spend more highway driving so your responses here will be more highway heavy perspectives. Do what brings you joy to your truck.

Those all have some nice added protection. I've seen the ARB one. It reduces clearance but I'm sure it can take the hits. Weekendwarriors4x4 pretty much has what I want. Somewhere between that and the RTR Funrunner.

Yeah. It happened coming off that big rock obstacle not too far from the start of red cone.

I'm also up here in Colorado and haven't had an issue with my rear bumper hitting anything. The hitch hasnt seen anything either. Granted I also have the Old Man EMU lift kit instead of a lift kit so maybe that is where I have my advantage. Also later on I plant to swap my bed out for the PCOR tray as it has a nice setup for offroad and still keeps a bed of sorts.

How much does that OME leaf pack lift the rear? I've been waiting for a Deaver race pack to come out because i suspect the ride quality and articulation will really improve. Right now I only run a 1.5" block in the rear.

The old man emu Leaf packs lift the rear by 1.6 in. For ride quality it is pretty nice combined with the old man emu shocks both front and rear.
