Howdy everyone, I’m new to owning a Ranger (or pickup for that matter). Just bought a 2019 XLT with 48k miles on it. This forum has been an awesome place to get info so I figured I should introduce myself as I’ll likely be around a while.

David
Welcome, David. Like you, this is my first pick-up, and the first time I've ever done or even considered mods to a vehicle; prior to this I've only really done basic maintenance, so I'm a relative novice compared to the others here.

Like @IdahoRanger said, this is a sarcastic, tongue-in-cheek group (my kind of people), but if you're ok with that, you won't find a better forum for getting actual, real-world help and advice. Hang on to your wallet though; this mob'll clean you out faster than the IRS after an audit.

There wont be any money left for the IRS to take after we are done with you!

Sorry guys not the best pics but I’m gonna take some good ones at a more scenic location when things start to warm up. I really enjoy this truck so far though. The only thing that I’ve been disappointed with is the crazy loud fan when I start up, but I’m getting used to is :). I’m gonna try to figure out how to install leds in my bed under the tonneau cover I put on it, but every YouTube tutorial seems so crazy complicated so I probably need to take it slow and get used to understanding the layout of the vehicle before I dare make my first attempt at anything with wires
Nice !

Well I’ll be… thank ya, you can add it to my tab. Is there a way to test this outlet? Mine looks a little worse for wear
Just use a multi meter to check for current. If no one has touched it before, there's a protective dummy plug in it. If you need to check the fuse, it's right next to the two fuses for the inside 12V power points. (Under the hood) I think that info is in the owners manual.

We know what you mean, but you don't check for current at an unconnected plug. Voltage and perhaps continuity. Checking for current requires a complete circuit, IE supply, conductors, load, and a way to tap into the circuit with an ammeter.
Sorry, carry on.

Welcome David,
Be sure to check the hose that supports the wires going to your fan clutch. Many have found the hose broken.
