My heater is working, it’s just not getting as hot as it was… normally, after 10 minutes or so, I have to turn the temp down to 68-69 Or it will run you out! But now, I have it set at 84 and getting warm, not hot air. Have been switching from Auto to Manual in hopes it resits itself. Any ideas? (2021 with 40,000 miles)

Try to go max hot. Then go max lo temp. I had a problem where one side was colder than the other. Ran max hot, then cold on both sides. With max fan and low fan. Seemed to have fix the problem.

Or its the blend doors going bad. Or motor or something.
Maybe mine just needed a reset for max and low. Did this before winter, been working fine ever since.
Cheap easy way to hopefully fix the problem.

Welcome to Auto Air. With Auto Air you have the option to set it to max heat, max cold or a temperature that you would like it to be at. When it comes to setting it to a particular temperature that you want it to be at, it will do what it can to adjust the temp doors to maintain set temperature. If you have it set to 84°, it will switch the blend doors as needed from hot to cold and back to maintain 84°. This is normal operation for any vehicle with auto air conditioning.

First think I would check is coolant level. Then you can worry that it's something worse.

It is winter time and cold as hell this week. Whopping 1 degree today. Colder air in equals colder air our. Use recirculating option, its what I do in the winter at initial start up.

probably sounds like a smart ass comment but I am trying to be helpful.

Cabose you were correct! Hi to Low, left to right and changing the fan speeds did the trick! must have reset its brain. It’s 26 here today and I had to turn it down to 70. Thanks and I hope to pay it forward!

Its weird. Like the motors and the computers need a reset to max and minimum to get everything in the middle set correctly.
