Exactly why after being raised in an elitist rat race city all my life, I think rural life would be a good change or try at some point. Sadly, the partner is resistant to that idea.
at least you live in a beautiful area with lots of fun places to drive the ranger.

Today picking through some old boxes from when we moved 16 years ago I found a surprise I had forgotten about. Back about 1990 I picked up a pair of S&W Co2 pistols at a gun show. One .177 and one 22 caliber. Receipt says I paid $250.00 for them but not sure if they were worth that much back then. Just posting a pic for those that had never seen them. Time to find some o ring kits. I miss those old gun show days where we would go and try to outspend each other.

Went shooting monday afternoon.....someone left 67 once-fired 223 cases laying on the pad. Picked 'em up.....brought 'em home.....sized 'em......tumbled........trimmed......swaged the pockets.....threw a primer in 'em.......loaded 'em with 23.5gr AA2230......seated 55gr FMJ and threw 'em in the ammo can with their brethren. Stopping at the club tomm after work and seeing who left what on the ground for me! I love free brass!

After 30 years of hunting with my pre 64 winchester 70 30-06 my grandfather gave me, today I decided to promote her to safe queen and picked up a savage axis 6.5 Creedmoor. Hopefully this thing will treat me as nicely as the aught six did.

I think you’ll find it plenty effective, most likely more accurate, and with far less recoil.

You'll like the Savage, usually they are accurate as hell. I have a 112 BVSS in 22-250 for ground squirrels that is a laser. When working up the load for it I shot a .12 5 shot bughole, been using that load ever since.

It definitely doesn't feel as good in hand as the winchester (its hard to beat the feel of a real winchester) but it will grow on me.
