I got the wife a Glock 43 about 2 yrs ago, that she's never shot. I got a Glock 30 about 2 months ago.

I took yesterday afternoon off and went to shoot them both. It was my first time shooting a Glock.

I was really surprised by how nice and predictable the trigger is, and how the smaller frame 30 ate the 45 recoil.

The G30 is my new carry weapon after that. I shot it much better than my current EDC (which I brough along and shot also).
For its size, the 43 is a very accurate pistol.

Honestly, I wasn't sure what I'd do with it, because my pinky hangs, off the bottom. The 30 is kinda small too, especially for a 45.

I shot great with them both tho - better than expected. The 30 I bought used. Came with 4 mags and night sights. No idea if the trigger is stock or not, but it felt good.

The water hose spraying grip angle didn't feel weird?

I dislike Glocks for this reason. They're alright, but I couldn't buy one.
Nah, felt good. Could be as much an indictment of my current EDC as an endorsement of the G30 - IDK.

Either way, I knocked it out at 15 and 25 yards with it, so it's going in my pocket.

If you have a G21 you can use the mags in the G30.
I'm tempted to get a G27 then a conversion barrel to 9mm.

Nice!

I can shoot them ok, they just feel weird to me. It's only a few degrees.

All that matters is that you shoot it well and that you feel good behind it.
My range day went well. The P226 and LC Carbine ran flawlessly and I got both dots centered well.

My little SR-22 pistol ran better with the Tademkross guide rod. But it seems to be a bit stiff for my Norma Tac22 to operate well. Gonna try something a bit more punchy in it, like a CCI mini mag and see. If that doesn't do it I might throw in the towel and trade it on a 22/45 paclite.

The problem with Glock grips is some what the angle and also it's like holding a block. It feels more square and not as contoured as most other manufacturers.
Most handguns with factory night sights, you can line the dots up and be on target even at 25 yards. With the Glock night sights, we found you needed to line up the top of the sights in daylight to hit accurately. The night sight front dot is set lower. When shooting fast, looking at the dots is easier.
I'm not a Glock fan but I'm not hater either. I'll keep my H&K handy.

In your .22, you can try the Aquila Sniper Subsonic 60gr. The heaviest CCI is 45gr.

Can confirm on the 6 o'clock hold on most Glocks. Gave my buddy, a Glock guy, fits today shooting my Sig with it's 12 o'clock hold. Never really noticed the blocky grip, but thinking back I think you're right.

Gonna order up a few types of .22 to see if one runs for me. I'll put that on the list.

I've never been able to comfortably hold a Glock. My hands are small and like you said it's like holding a brick to me. Of course the most comfortable gun for me is a 1911 which is also one of the more expensive ones. ?‍♂ But my S&W 9mm Shield and Sig P365XL both fit me great and I rotate those two as my CCW's.

There are countless 1911 variations now. For full size affordable look into Auto Ordinance. I was CCW a Glock G26 issued gun before I retired. Now most of my CCW is H&H USP Compact 40, which was my duty carry for many years before we changed. Tempted to get a G27 and maybe a .22 revolver for CCW (not at once).

Oh, I have a few 1911's I've added since moving here. Back in MA we were limited as to what we could have. The first thing I did was buy me a nice Kimber 1911 as I always wanted one. Then a couple Springfields to bookmark it. ? They're all in 9mm except the Colt which is a .22.

Nice collection. If you're going with 9mm instead of .45 (blasphemy) then there are several CCW capable 1911s that should fit smaller hands even. Carry and use what's comfortable.
I picked up an Auto Ordinance Gov Model 1911-A1 like the bottom one but in .45 for about $400 many years ago.

you should get on the CMP's list for a military surplus 1911. They are still taking orders. Most of the ones they sell are WWII, but they are random, and not guaranteed. Some guys get WWI, and some from the period in between. A few folks have gotten modern special forces sidearms, originally made in the 40's.

With my assigned number in line, I have about 2 more months to go until my order is filled.

Of course, I am collecting US Army issued weapons, so I am excited to get it. I have most of the ones that us mortals (read: non auto permittees) can own. I still need a revolutionary war rifle, and the 1911. I don't have any military shotguns, but I wanted to get all of the rifles, then the handguns, then maybe shotguns.

I was on track to fill the card until I bought this truck. Now I'm broke.

I saw the pricing on the military 1911's an thought it was steep for how warn they are in the description. I wanted one since it's what I carried back in the day on security watch in the navy. Personally I wouldn't want a 1911 in 9mm, the whole point is to have a .45. I have a mini 1911 in 9mm in my Sig p928.

I have a metro arms American classic 1911. I picked it up not knowing anything about it but it felt right and tight. I love the thing. I had a Sig C3 an swear I can't tell any difference other than appearance an price. The C3 has a shorter barrel being a commander size it was better for carry.

Agreed on the pricing through CMP.

I really dig my old p238. Although lately I've been considering trading for a 938 in order simplify ammo stores.
