Just bought myself an early retirement present/received a B-day present from my wife!

I'm leaving my LEO job this February after 16 years, and I will have to turn in my agency issued Glock 43. I pretty much carry that 43 off duty everywhere, and it's with me just less than my actual duty gun that I wear to work on a daily basis. I love it because it's just an easy sidearm to carry while in shorts, and I figured this would be a plus in South Florida. My wife approved the purchase of a new 43 as a birthday present to replace the one I'm turning in. I managed to find one blue label Glock 43 for $358 an hour south of where I work, and my boss told me to go get it. When I got back to my office, I took care of the early retirement present portion for myself and ordered night sights and a Taran Tactical Innovations spring kit for it. Woo hoo!
Thank you for your service to your community. I am sure you will be missed.

Congratulations on your retirement. I'm thinking about a Glock 43 for a carry. I have a Sig 938 but the 3 extra rounds are tempting. I think the weight is similar

Do they make them for the Glock 43? Or just for the 43X? I don't think the 43X magazines are compatible with the 43. :(

We here in Hawaii it is now legal for a citizen to carry a Tazer in public. This is a big deal and I hope it will lead to more of a push to be able to carry a real gun in public. By the way Hawaii is worse than Cali in getting and carrying guns.

Agree 100%. 9mm bullet technology has come a long way and it’s the only caliber I conceal or open carry now. I carry a Glock 43, 19 and 17.
One of my co-workers (now retired) got in a shootout with a wanted person. The perp fired the first round, from a .45 Glock. It hit my coworker in the face, traced around his cheek bone and skull, and exited out his neck. The second and third rounds hit his vest. The fourth round, ironically the one that gives him the most trouble, hit him in the leg. He suffers nerve issues/pain from that one still. His return fire hit the upstanding citizen several times, knocking him down. The guy kept firing from the seated position until the last round entered his face approximately where his upper lip was. You can imagine where it ended up. :) The opinion of the M.E. was one of the rounds that hit the perps chest was absolutely and massively fatal. The guy was still working with an exploded heart for a second before the last round ended up in his brain.

.45 has HORRIBLE ballistics. We've shot several at different media, and it's amazing how crap it is. We recovered .45 slugs that actually had the angle of the windshield we shot it at (not through!) pressed into the nose. Modern 9mm hits soooooo much better. I love my .40. I carry a .45 on a rare occasion. But I'm liking the 9mm more and more. Modern 9mm that is.

Congratulations on your retirement and thank you for your service. Having a self defense weapon in the house is necessary IMO or any where it is needed.

SEXY! Looks like mine! (The extended mag was just for shits and giggles ? )
If you're looking for a good conceal carry holster for her, I highly suggest looking at White Hat Holsters. They actually are capable of making holsters for a whole host of options and I was able to check off boxes not just for the Holosun to fit, but for the Olight and extended/threaded barrel! The pricing is phenomenal for what your getting, and the build/ship time wasn't bad at all!

I will have a couple self defense pieces! ? The Glock 43 is the perfect carry gun for wearing shorts in FL, in my opinion! But for around the house...

Retired (from my agency) and refinished Police Magnum 870!

And then, also in the safe...

This was my dad's. He bought this when he was 12 years old and gave it to me in 2019.

And back before we were allowed to qualify with single action pistols, I bought this Para Ordinance double action, double stack gun.

Once I pop smoke from this place and no longer have to follow some specific SOP in regards to posting on social media, I might post some full auto fun! :D

I've got a NFA lower set aside just for this same build. Going to make it my dedicated battle wagon gun soon as I find a suitable electronic locking setup after I build out the rest of the rear seat delete battle station. lol

Brother, you'd love my Mustang! I got the bug up my ass to build something for a rifle there and this is what I came up with:

In this car:

I used a Shelby strut tower brace, and a cast off rifle lock from an old Crown Vic. ?
The stuff is out there on eBay, including the electronic momentary switches and such.

Damn, I love this car!!!!!
