Build A shorter barrel AR pistol. This is my 4" one and I have them in 6" and up. Great for a truck gun and nice and light too minus the larger red dot.

Ballistically identical to a Glock 19/17, but less natural to shoot quickly and accurately. With a pistol “brace” it’s definitely better tho.

As for concealability, nothing beats a pistol currently, but I do have an old 5.11 bag that is triangle shaped and looks like some hipsters laptop case. It conceals soft armor and either my 8” barreled Scorpion SBR or my SBR’d Draco AK.

I'd like a way to conceal a AR pistol. Even stashing it in the ranger out of sight but reachable is a challenge

No doubt a pistol is the best for concealing but he said he'd like a way to conceal an AR pistol. I was just showing him an option for a small truck gun that's portable, fairly light and easy to hide on the front seat with just a coat, gym bag or even in a briefcase.

pump shot gun pistol. maybe heavier than the ar pistol but arguably more or at least as effective as an ar pistol at defending until getting to better grounds / options. also a bit more streamlined so easier to stow and conceal in the truck. shot gun wound at pistol distance is nasty.

I bought a Mossberg Shockwave for another home defense weapon. I bought it just after they first came out because, well because it looked like something from Mad Max and we could never own anything like this back east lol The more I thought about it it made a great HD weapon because you don't have a long barrel bumping into things when you're moving through the house. It's not the ideal truck gun but I have brought it on certain road trips/vacations and it stores easily behind the seat.

so this has been making the rounds on the interwebs....

self defence? whats your short answer opinion?

https://lawandcrime.com/caught-on-v...ifes-boyfriend-boyfriend-claims-self-defense/
My opinion, it was murder. He introduced the weapon. He brandished it, threatening violence. The "victim" did not make any move to grab the weapon, only offered non-life threatening violence. The guy in black had separation and distance and was not in any immediate danger when he raised the weapon and shot the other guy. Just my opinion though. I just make the arrests. It's the jury's job to decide on the conviction!

There was distance between them, he wasn't advancing when he was fired at. I can see this going either way since he wasn't "inside the home" an the weapon was retrieved from inside an brought out. He should have retreated to his car called the police for a domestic dispute spouse withholding a child preventing scheduled visitation. Or the guy with the gun could have retreated an called saying they guy was trespassing an the kid wasn't on the property. If he came in the house the shooting would totally been justified.

ill throw in the unpopular view here. the property owner told the big angry to leave. twice if i remember right. that means its trespass. if that was at my door step and some big angry giant was getting up in my face after being told to leave .... nope.
was it needed or really just no. but that is not what this is about. when you go to someone elses place all pissed off and get told to leave and then dont and have the stupidity to get up in someones face you get to sleep in the bed you made. the guy lurched at him and was in close enough proximity to hurt the property owner. self defense. dont show up pissed off looking for a fight when it should be a law matter. custody of kids etc. is a court deal. if somethings not as it should be you contact authorities not escalate the issue. simple as that. ill throw this in on it too, when your not welcome some place and the owner comes out with a gun, how damn foolish do you have to be to not walk away. geez. anyone with a dot of thought would decide, "hmm maybe i should walk away at this point, its not going well"... i know i know im a awful mean sob etc. ill cry about that fact later.

Variances in state laws gets pretty important with situations like that.

Some states allow the defense of only expected death/breakage and some states allow the defense of property and more.

Some states have a duty to retreat, while others do not.

Texas has no duty to retreat and has a more open defense law as far as when you can use deadly force.

The video is an example of what happens when two emotionally driven morons collide. Bowing up to someone holding a carbine is absolutely idiotic, telling them you’ll take their carbine and use it on them is even more idiotic. As much as I disagree with escalating something like this to that level, and as much as I would argue that the situation was not life threatening if you can leave the situation and your girlfriend behind to return armed, I doubt the shooter sees charges in Texas. In other states, charges would have been filed within days. The biggest loser will be the son.

im thankful none of us are involved. things like that go sour real quick when people are not thinking calmly. doce3gun is correct that the child is the one that has really lost in this case. i hope the kid overcomes all the shortcomings of his elders.

Just bought myself an early retirement present/received a B-day present from my wife!

I'm leaving my LEO job this February after 16 years, and I will have to turn in my agency issued Glock 43. I pretty much carry that 43 off duty everywhere, and it's with me just less than my actual duty gun that I wear to work on a daily basis. I love it because it's just an easy sidearm to carry while in shorts, and I figured this would be a plus in South Florida. My wife approved the purchase of a new 43 as a birthday present to replace the one I'm turning in. I managed to find one blue label Glock 43 for $358 an hour south of where I work, and my boss told me to go get it. When I got back to my office, I took care of the early retirement present portion for myself and ordered night sights and a Taran Tactical Innovations spring kit for it. Woo hoo!
