i went slummin down to walmart last night to get mobil1 oil as the jug i had waiting has vanished. noticed that they will not sell any "assault" weapon ammunition - sign in stores wording. oddly enough they do still carry a pretty good assortment of .308 .450 bushmaster . 50 beo and a few others. so the lowly 22 caliber center fire is just ultra lethal, has to be stopped. but 450 bushmaster = walmart approved for the unwashed serfs to buy.
My AR10 takes .308…….buy 3 boxes and tell them how you can’t wait to load your Magpul D-50 drum and shoot it in your AR10.

Always educate
agreed, I just want them (wal mart) to keep selling stuff and stop being political pawns.
If i remember correctly sam walton was a navy or marine vet, enjoyed outdoors and was big on family values... Id bet if he was still the walton in walmart we would not have any of this banned item bs.

I have a couple of random noob questions for you, my expert friends...

When cleaning my 5.56, I have found that I can't get any patches down the bore but .22 cal. I have purchased patches that SAY they're for 5.56, but they won't go. I have also purchased a "supposed" 5.56 cleaning kit (not very expensive), and have found that little that is in the kit is useful to me . Brushes won't fit, patches won't fit, and the rod/extensions aren't long enough to go down the barrel so I end up using my .22 cleaning tools to do the job. What the heck am I doing wrong???

Just in case you're of a mind to consider, there's also this...

Hellcat Pro or P365 XL (I'm considering a new weapon)
Do any of you have experiences good or bad with either one?

Thanks, and have a great weekend!
Chris

5.56mm = .224 = .22
Any .22 cal accessories will (should) fit a 5.56 barrel. What size are your patches ? The larger ones, about 1.5" x 1.5" are too bulky to go through and I just cut them in half and then cut those in half so you end up with 3/4" x 3/4". Use the bronze brushes with Hoppes #9 and no patch, then run patches through until clean, then a clean patch with a little oil--done !

the stuff labeled 5.56 may be labeled incorrectly. .223, 5.56 and .22 lr cleaning stuff should fit fine through the barrel.
is it even close to fitting? like if you gave it some lube and attitude would it go?
i had a kit that the tag said worked with .17 up to 12 ga. found out really quick it did not fit anything in .17 and just barely fit in a .22.

That's how I do it.
I was just confused and bummed because the 5.56 stuff was waaay too large.
Now I know. Thanks!

No, there probably isn't enough lube in the world that's gonna help.
Moving back to my .22 tools is the hot tip.
Thanks!
