new longest shot record.......https://ksltv.com/505832/world-record-for-the-longest-long-range-rifle-shot-busted-tuesday/
pretty cool! i wonder what the longest repeatable reliable rifle shot is? I know a retired army sniper that is about 60 years old and he is still capable of 1000 yard repeat shots once hes set in his groove. most of the places i hunted were brushy and scrubby. so long range hunting just didnt happen. deer could be 75 yards away looking at me and i would not know for all the coverage. so i never practiced at anything past 100 yards. if i was wealthy and had free time id like to learn longer range marksmanship. i bet its fun. seems like its not a poor mans sport though lol.

my first thought was a . 50 browning round. but the picture is too blurry to see the brass well. it is not the browning round for sure. seen many and that aint one lol. i would imagine its a special made high tech science ish round from one the big names like lupua or barrett etc.

Well, the wife went to bible study so decided to fill some cases! Got these 45acp cases from a good friend. 279 to be exact. Mixed headstamps!

I use a SDB and RL550 and love them. Darn primers are getting expensive now. I miss the old gun shows where components were affordable and available in bulk without tracking.

nice! about 4 years ago I had collected a five gallon bucket full of brass. full to the top! ammo was still on the store shelf and was affordable. i didnt reload and the person i saved it for broke an arm and stopped reloading so I took the buck to a local scrap yard... I think I got 50 something bucks for the brass based on the weight of the metal at the time. if i only knew the world would be going nuts in the future i would have kept it lol.

Agree! Primer prices are out of control! I've lucked out and did some trading on primers. Came across some good prices and nabbed 'em up! I also miss those old gun show days where the components were available and reasonably priced! I have 2 of those SDBs........one set up for 45 and the other set up for 9mm. I've got alot of rounds through those loaders and they make great ammo!

Reloading can still be done at a great price but getting your components at the best price possible!

A little ways back I had some of my subscribers ask for a basic getting started in reloading and the equipment I use so I threw together a simple video about basics and equipment I use. I figured I would post a link should anyone be interested. Just kind of explains the process and what is required.
