I was looking on Discount Tire for some tires to replace the factory tires. I'm looking at tires for City/Highway driving.

I got sticker shock seeing the Michelin Defenders were $252 a tire, so I'm looking to what other options are out there.

Discount tire's top 3 choices were the Michelin Defenders, the Factory tires (Bridgestone Dueler ATs) which cost more than the Michelins (!), and Wrangler Fortitude HT, which are a top seller since they're listed as $192. They also have Wrangler Steadfast HTs, which are more at $225.

Is anyone running either of these tires? I didn't see anything when I searched.

I'm also looking at Continental TerrainContact HTs and General Grabber HTs60s, since Consumer reports rated them well. Also considering Firestone Destination LE3s.

Thanks,

I just went from 285/70/17 Ridge Grappler to 285/75/17 grappler thinking the only Diff was an inch or two, the new ones are a little Louder, not much but I notice it, I like them and they feel nice, I have a lift and it still rubs "a little" at full lock that dont really bother me either

I had the same dilemma on which tires to buy. I went with Cooper Discoverer HTP II. I love them. I dont do any off roading just city and highway. I had them on my last truck and liked them a lot. I bought them at Discount. I did go up from 265/65/17 to 265/70/17.

That's just one size larger in width?

Oh, ok. Thanks!

I can see new tires in my future before the year is out and had thought to only go a size wider and not taller.

Thanks,
My son put Destination LE/3's on his SUV and has really loved them. From his experience, I put them on my SUV as well. I found nothing wrong with them during the short time that I had the SUV with them on it. I sold it before the tires had run their course. It was the 3rd set of tires that I had on the SUV and I think they were the best for that vehicle. The other two were a michelin and a bridgestone. I don't think you would go wrong with those. Just a tip, Firestone often has coupons for their tires and services.

Currently there is $90 off a set of LE/3's.

If discount tire is your provider of choice, have firestone give you a quote that includes the coupon and ask discount to match it.

I replaced the factory tires on my SUV with Michelin Defenders. A bit pricey but the tire has good traction and is quiet. No snow here so I can't comment on how they do in the white stuff.

I win! I've washed my truck twice since I brought it home Christmas 2022. A year and 5 months ago.
But then again, I only have 3000 miles on mine so far.

Discount Tire is taking back a new set of General Grabber HTS60s I just put on my '19 XLT Sport. They couldn't balance them for highway speeds, and they vibrated horribly! Sucking it up and getting Michelin Defender 2s.

What?! Man get out there and drive that poor truck. At this rate it's going to think that you don't like it.

Nice color btw. :like:
