This boomer has zero issues with EV's. Well, other than tesla. :puke: What I have issues with is the fact that the grid in North America is absolutely not in any condition to support a major EV push. We have a whole lot of electrical upgrading to do before everyone can jump on that bandwagon. But no doubt, EV's are the future IMHO.

Now personally, EV's in my personal future? Not a f***ing chance in hell. Less than zero interest. Call it boomer if you want. I like ICE!
100% this! Now I might be a little more receptive to EV's at some point, like 10-15 years when we have a capable grid all across the country. I think PHEV is going to be a huge hit because you're not reliant on a full EV and short ranges while traveling or towing. This will most likely be my next Ranger as it's perfect for my driving style and I have solar so I can charge from home when needed for free.

Curious, why don’t you like Tesla?

I would agree that North America is not in a state currently to support an ICE ban. But that really isn’t my main qualm with this forum and EVs. EVs are a great solution for a lot of people, and it makes monetary sense for most people as well. This is what I feel is overlooked every time the EV thing gets brought up everyone gets up in arms

There is no denying that grid and charger infrastructure need improvement before before an outright ban, and the states who have ICE bans in place are seemingly putting the cart before the horse. BUT, that doesn’t mean EVs aren’t a great solution for many people.

As much of a good idea EV's are, Tesla is the one manufacturer that is over rated for what it is. For starters they are over priced. For the available Range(then again we are only so far) they offer you can do better with a Hybrid. Also the multiple Quality issue that have been reported on Tesla over the years has not been good what so ever. Lets not get started on the individuals that think the rules pf the road dont apply to them because they drive a Tesla!!

Should I continue?

Getting 14 mpg in a Ranger is hard to understand, sounds close to the Cummins I traded for the Ranger. But I would suspect driving habits, so don't expect to get stated range from the EV either.

I agree, totally fine with being insulted as being a "boomer", non boomers will understand when they grow up. Nothing against EVs but they have a ways to go. Anything that I have to subsidize as a taxpayer is not ready to compete yet. Lots of room for improvement over the next decade and they will be a viable option for many but not all needs. The power grid has a lot of growing to do as well before it is ready to replace the massive amount of energy supplied currently by gasoline and diesel. Batteries and other storage methods have a great deal of growing to do, and will be driven by economics, not taxpayer subsidies.

Haha, you know boomer men can't type. In school we used to watch in amazement as the girls learned to type on the massive IBM typewriters with no letters on the keys.
